My DH and I go every September and usually we are there for the start of Epcot's Food and Wine Festival. Last year we enjoyed it so much and are thinking of changing our week. We are currently booked 9/21-9/28bounceback w/ free dining.

I'm afraid the week of 9/28-10/5 will be much more crowded than 9/21-9/28. Please help me decide! thanks

The decision is yours. ;)
If you want to go to Food and Wine then you need to change your reservation. It will be more crowded that week, but it shouldn't be too bad. The big crowds will be during the Columbus Day holiday.

Disney just announced that the F&W will start on Sept 19, a week earlier than in past years so now you'll be able to go to F&W even if you don't change your dates. Weekends will be busy in WS, but the weekdays will be quieter. On weekdays all of the food booths will be open, there will be daily food demos and seminars and Eat to the Beat concerts. F&W impacts the crowds in WS, but there isn't a noticeable difference in Future World or the rest of DW.

Touring Plans shows the week you are booked as 4 being the highest crowd level out of a 10. Most of your days are 1's and 2's with a couple of 3's sprinkled in and only 1- 4.

All of September seems to be only 1's-4's. So I am thinking any days/weeks in September would be great.

We normally go in December and love the decorations, beautiful weather and light crowds since we go in early December but this year my DGS school schedule doesnt allow us to go in December so we are planning a September trip. When I compare,in touring plans, the week we always go in December to the week we are planning in September, the September crowds are even lower than the December week we are normally there. So excited for lower crowds, :yay: but not looking forward to the hotter weather and the rain:sad2:

What should we expect from the weather and heat in September?

Yes! I saw they expanded the F&W to my week ! So excited now I will not have to change anything! Thanks for all your responses!

We were there last year the first week of October and it was nice. It wasn't "walk on" rides as in the past, but wait times were minimal except for Soarin and TSM, which I think are high all the time. We are also booked on FD from BB and started our Reservation on the last day of FD to extend it through the next week. Some friends of mine went the week of Columbus Day last year and complained about the crowds. Keep in mind that the TOT 10 mile RunDisney race is the weekend of Oct. 4th, though I don't know how much that will affect crowds.

The weather in September IS very humid and it does rain late afternoon often.

But the reward for that is low crowds most rides no more than 15mins .

WE love September and do not mind the weather but those Lovebugs! UGGH!
