I wanted friday 11/21 for party night as we leave the next day. BUT... dawns on me that might sell out being friday before turkey day!

I could do Thursday 11/20.

Will it be big enough of a difference?

I book ADRs in morning...hence the scream for HELP!

Even on a sold out night, you can still get on rides quickly and you can still find good spots for parade viewing. The cookie and cocoa lines move quickly too! :)

I'd do Thursday if you can. More locals come out for Friday night parties since they don't have work and school the next day.

Ride lines are always fairly short, but it you want to meet characters and see the parade, it is always great to have less people to contend with.

I agree with mom2rtk. We're going to the Sunday 11/16 party. I think all parties on Fridays or Saturdays will be busier than the others. It will never be as packed as an evening EMH but Main St can get pretty packed because of the parade and fireworks.

It's funny that everyone says Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest as touringplans.com says that Tuesdays are the best, then Fridays, and that Sundays and Thursdays are the busiest. I have been on a Tuesday and a Thursday, and Thursday was definitely much busier. Going Friday, November 14th this year. I had the option of a Friday or Sunday, but went with Friday on what the touringplans site recommended. Guess I'll find out how accurate it is in 6 months!

There are no parties on Saturdays. I've heard that Touring Plans bases their ratings for the parties on ride wait times, which really doesn't make any sense because most people go to the parties for the party-specific activities, not for rides they can do during regular park hours.

I think the TouringPlans method of ranking parties is nonsense. They rely heavily on ride wait times in prior years without accounting for the special events happening in prior years. And they rely heavily on ride wait times when most people don't do parties for the rides.

I have been to parties every night they are offered. I have only done Fridays when I had no other choice and they are ALWAYS busier. The quietest parties we have been to have been Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have been to 14 hard ticket parties so have experienced a good variety of conditions.

Crowds are mostly driven by day of the week and discounts offered. If you have a choice of a discount night and a non-discount night, always pay the extra money to go on the non-discounted night.

Touringplans has definitely been inaccurate so I wouldnt plan any part of my trips around their predictions. Thats just my opinion though. Even more recently people have reported that they relied on TP and it was the exact opposite of what they predicted crowds would be each day of their trip.

We are going to a Sunday party on Nov 16th... Went to the first party on Nov 8th last year and it was a sell out and it still did not feel crowded at all.

I think so many people go by the touring plans anymore that it creates the opposite of expected result quite often.

I guess I should have also said that I go with my teenage children and we go for the rides. We don't do any of the special events other than the fireworks, so touringplans.com has always been accurate for us

Then you'll be fine on ANY party night, even a sold out night. But you are the exception. When I go to Disney and get a multi-day ticket, I can add extra days for $10. A party ticket is $65. most people will not pay that to do things they could do during regular park hours on a multi-day ticket.

Getting ready to buy my MVMCP tickets and wondered if anyone had more thoughts on Thursday 11/20 vs Friday 11/21? Just how big a difference between those two nights?

We went to MNSSGP on Halloween last year. I'd love less crowds then that...but even that was manageable.

Any time you can choose Thursday over Friday, I would do so.

The 20th is the better choice because the 21st will be the last one until after Thanksgiving. Sadly, we don't have a choice and are doing the one on the 21st due to arrival being that day.
