Hey again everyone,
I posted this morning as to what value resort to stay at and my husband came home tonight and said he wanted to stay at one of the moderates.....Help!!! I had finally after 2 months decided on Pop Century and now I am back to driving myself crazy over choosing a moderate resort. I stayed at Coronado Springs back in 2002 before I had a baby. This will be his first trip to Disney he will be 2 when we go at the end of August and I am wondering if I could get some more professional input from you guys on which moderate would be fun for both of us and fun for my 2 year old son? My husband has never stayed at any of the moderates before......so HELP ME PLEASE!!!! Thanks guys, your input on the value resorts this morning made me come up with Pop and now I am back at square 1....... :confused3 ::MickeyMo

My vote is for POR. My family loved it!! They have been recently renovated with fridges and cofee makers. Either AB (if you want the rustic look) or the mansions (if you want the old southern plantation look) are awesome! You can look at the layout of the resort at allearsnet.com to request a certain building to be near the food court or close to a bus stop. There are 4 bus stops at POR.

It will be great wherever you decide cuz it DISNEY!! :earboy2:

We love PO-FQ. To us, it is the best value on WDW property. The rooms have been newly renovated, it is half the size of other moderates, the themeing and landscaping are spectacular, the bus picks you up first and drops you off first at the whole PO complex, etc. We are staying there in May and can't wait. It is like a deluxe with a moderate price.

My vote is either PoFQ or CSR! We stayed at PoFQ last year and LOVED  it, but we also visited CSR and that resort has a breathtaking grounds...POFQ is smaller and intimate CSR is VERY large9but the pool is AWESOME)..CSR has a mexican/southwestern theme PoFQ is quaint New Orleans!!! There is someone on these boards who has a great CSR page (do a search..or can anyone help out..I forget their name)!!!

We were actually going to stay at CSR ontil we came into a little extra $$$ and decided on AKL!!! They are both great and it is hard to go wrong...you need to first figure out your priorities(size, pool, theme etc) and then decide....good luck! :sunny:

We've gone twice and both times went to POFQ. Loved it both times. Love the boats after the parks close. I researched it well both times and there is always a preference by most to go POFQ. We went during Spring break last time and it was quiet and relaxing which is a nice break away from the parks. Good luck. We are doing Pop Century this time to save money and try a new resort. We're leaving in June.

POR!!! We loved it! The boat to Downtown Disney, the lovely "Gone with the Wind" theming, great pools, great mousekeeping, carriage rides, incredible landscaping!! We are headed back in two months and I can't wait! You won't be dissapointed!

you cannot go wrong with kids when you take them to the CSR- the dig site, pools and atmosphere are perfect. My kids love it and we try to stay there every visit to wdw if we can. I think the PO resorts are nice but not as perfect as the CSR is for kids.

My vote would be POFQ with a smaller child. The resort is smaller, easier to navigate, and he'll probably love the pool slide, which you could ride down with him. I think this is one of the only resorts they allow you to do this at.

I would vote for POR or CBR. Not a fan of CSR. It's hot enough in Disney without them simulating a dsert and the food court there is fun but even more bizarre then the normal Disney food courts. Plus at CSR if there is a convention the food court can be packed at meal times.

I live CBR due to the sand! Kids love to play in the sand.

pirate: We have stayed there from the time my kids were little. They are so big now! It has a cute baby pool and sand beaches for them to play in, it's very colorful and lot's of room to run.

For the first time at a moderate, my vote would be either of the Port Orleans resorts. They are both beautiful and well laid out. There is plenty to do, and they offer the boat to Downtown Disney--none of the other moderates has any sort of boat service.

We like CSR, too, but for your first moderate visit, I'd go with POR or POFQ.

Welcome to the DIS!

You picked my favorite Value resort, so let me give you my opinion on my favrite moderate resort. I love Port Orleans French Quarter. I love the theme and I love the pool and I love that it is small. The pool, the food court and the bus stop are all just minutes away from any room. Honestly, your 2 year old will enjoy any of the moderates. You should concentrate on what you want and like.

If you have not found AllEars.Net yet, take a look at the descriptions and pictures of the various resorts: http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/faq_hot.htm .

The DIS also has resort descriptions: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/resorts/resortmain.htm

Good luck! By the way, it's considered polite to return to a thread that you started by asking a question to thank or update the people who replied.

POR - both sections are nice and have stayed in both. Mansions alittle more formal and AB has that rustic feel. My family prefers AB side. POR is a beautiful relaxing resort with southern charm and a fairly tight footprint with easy access all over. I know FQ has it's fans and it is smaller, but I don't want to have to travel over to POR for a sit down meal and more amenities such as the very nice quiet pools. AB quiet pools are free form and so relaxing, great for a quick dip.

Good luck :wizard:

No worries. I didn't think you were rude :flower:. It's just that new sometimes don't know the "rules" (for lack of a better word). I hope I didn't come off as too harsh, it was not meant that way.
