Hi I'm new to this thread. I'm looking to go to Universal Oct 7-10. I want to stay on property and have no idea which hotel to choose. I have a DH, DS 5 and DS 8. Also, should we get a package which includes tickets or buy a la carte? Which is cheaper?

Thanks for the wisdom!

Hi and welcome! :)

I would have a good look at www.universalorlando.com and look at the hotel section. This should give you a feel for theme. Basically the Royal Pacific is the least expensive than the Hard Rock and Portofino as most expensive. The Royal pacific does not have a pool slide but does have a terrific pool area that kids love! The other 2 have slides and just as nice pool areas.

The big draw seems to be the easy walk from HRH to the parks. You can also walk to IOA from RPR easily. They offer boats and bus shuttles from all resorts to the parks that are easy and quick.

As far as which way to book it I would price it out as a package and hotel only. They offer AAA rates and Fan Club rates florida and georgia resident rates and their own promotions at certain times of the year.

Go to www.loewshotels.com and join their incentive lowes first program, its free.

With your children being young you could stay at any of the resorts and they would enjoy it!

Any other questions, feel free to ask.:)

A couple of factors which might raise your rate are its the weekend also HHN & not sure if thats Columbus Weekend AAA this year seems to be offering the same type of discount this year as APH

One potential savings I discovered while researching rates was the fact that the Universal vacations include taxes in the price, and all others didn't. The tax is 11 or 11.5%, can't remember which, but it can add up.
