Here is my dilema - we are planning a surprise trip so cannot ask the kids (DS8 and DD14) directly which character dining would appeal to them. But I have tried to check inderictly. Today my DS told me that Pooh is for babies - I want to do the CP breakfest or lunch, but given this comment, I am thinking about adding another one.
What character dining would appeal to them (princesses are out, and so it would seem Pooh)

how about donald's in AK or chef mickey at the contemp? those are fun and we really enjoy donald's!

Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary is a good choice. The place is loud, loose and fun. :cool1: The breakfast and dinner buffets are good. The meals have a good selection. Check out the menus on this website. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto are the characters.

Stich and friends sounds like it would be great! Ohana at the Poly was great when we went for breakfast and we had a perfect table with a view of the castle.

:upsidedow I say Chef Mickeys! On our last trip there were nine of us-ages 2 to 50+ and we all loved Breakfast with the "classic" characters-Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Chip & Dale. These characters are "ageless!" :thumbsup2 Our trip was a surprise trip, too! Have a magical adventure!

By the way, how are you planning on announcing the surprise trip?!

Current plan (we have lots of time) - we are leaving on Sat. Dec. 22. Fri. Dec. 21 is the last day of school before break. We will tell the kids that we have a present for them. I will wrap 2 books - the disney kid guide and a cruise guide book (passporter), and give one to each. Hope they will get the clue....

Ohhh, how exciting! :goodvibes We used fortune cookies to announce our surprise trip. ;) Keeping the secret was so hard-good luck!

Okay - here is the deal. If you get an 8 a.m. ressie for Breakfastsaurus on a non-EMH day at AK, you get into the park an hour early. Breakfast takes an hour, and you finish right at 9:00 - right as the park is opening. B'fastsaurous is not far from Everest - so you can get in 2-3 rides before the crowds slam in. Then go ride the safari - if your kids like thrill rides, this is the only way to do it.

Otherwise - I would say Chef Mickey without a doubt.

another vote for Chef Mickeys OR Lilo and Stich at O'hana.

You can't go wrong with Classic Disney (Chef Mickey's ) or a cute mischevious little guy like (Stich)

We went to Chef Mickey's two years ago and loved it. There is alot of good food and interaction with characters.

It's got to be chef Mickey! we had a great time..... See the photo . Have Fun!

My DD12 & DS9 both love Chef Mickey's.

Actually, they enjoy all of the character meals.
1900 Park Fare is probably their 2nd favorite.
DD is crazy about Prince Charming & DS loves Suzy & Perla.

I'll throw in another vote for Ohana. It's my family's favorite character meal. We love that it's served family style and isn't a buffet. My boys (ages 6 & 8) love seeing Stitch, Mickey, Pluto. We love visiting the Poly hotel, too!

What a great surprise! :wizard:

Alot of people go to the character meals for the food not just the characters.....we are one of those people! I could not go to MK without having a 8:05 ressie for CP, it is a fav of DH...he loves the puffed french toast!
