Taking the family to DL tomorrow, so I am looking for tips on best places to sit for the fireworks, and how long in advance do we have to stake out the real-estate before the show. Thanks

I don't believe the fireworks are running right now - except for the Halloween party fireworks. According to the schedule only Fantasmic is going at night in DL Saturday 10/1 and Sunday 10/2. And of course WOC at DCA.

The schedule on the Disneyland web site says Dreams Come True plays on Saturday October 1, and Sunday October 2, at 9:30 PM each night. So it looks like it will only be on the weekends.

Anyways, I haven't seen this show yet but with most of the other firework shows I have seen the main parts are on the castle, on each side of the castle, above the castle, and sometimes on Matterhorn Mountain. Shows I have seen with Tinkerbell she flies from the castle to Matterhorn Mountain.

So IMO your best spot will be directly in front of the castle. This will be a prime location and there are many other great spots that you will have some of the view obstructed, but if your not looking to camp out on a spot for an hour or 2 that might be your best bet. We have sat in the benches around the Partners statue, to the left of the castle, to the right of the castle, in the Plaza Inn seating (while enjoying dessert) and back near the entrance to Frontierland. Even when we didn't have the perfect view the fireworks are always one of my favorite things .

As far as how long to wait, we always play it by ear. If we REALLY want a good spot we will keep checking to see what the crowds are like to know when we should sit and wait. The last trip we sat in the Plaza Inn seating area and we found those seats about 15-20 minutes before showtime.

It is crazy, I know, but we have seen people camped out in and around the castle hub a good 90 minutes before fireworks start. So apparently that is the best spot to see everything - but really, you can walk up 5 minutes before and still get a good view from just about anywhere on Main Street (provided you are not standing behind my 6'4" husband!). We like to stand in the hub closer to the entrance - it's a great view, a little less crowded, and you can escape quickly when the show is over (if that is your plan).

For RDCT you need to have a good view of the castle and behind the castle.

If the hub was a clock and the castle at noon, my favorite spot is at about 8:00. Get there 30 minutes early. Make sure no trees block your view.

Sorry my mistake - I printed out the schedule for the next few days since we are going to be there and somehow when I was looking at it I totally missed the fireworks! Thanks for correcting me since I was completely wrong!!!

We were just there and had the amazing good fortune to be riding BTMR durig the fireworks! It was absolutely magical - we rode twice!!
