It seems that all the places have pretty bad reviews. We are going to be there for an entire day so need to pick at least one meal there.

What do we choose!?

We are doing the deluxe dining plan! I dont want to waste credits on a bad meal!!

We decided to go to HS at the last minute. I got an 11:40 AM ADR at the Brown Derby at 7:30 AM the same morning. DH and I agreed that it was overall the BEST meal we ate all week on the DxDDP. We each had a salad appie, the black grouper entree, and we each picked a different dessert, neither or which was the famous grapefruit cake or flourless chocolate cake. As I said, before, as a total meal, Brown Derby ranked number one for a MEAL.

We love HBD. the kids like it too. It kinda is a calm during the day.

I love the Prime Time Café. Get the pot roast and mashed potatoes. Toooo Goood!!! The cobbler is great for dessert and my daughter loves the make your own sundae.

We like Prime Time and Sci Fi. :thumbsup2

We're leaving and going over to Kona to eat on our Studios day. :confused3

But actually, I rather enjoyed Sci-Fi. We got burgers and shakes and it was very good, and the atmosphere is great. And while Prime Time has pretty good food, it just isn't for us. We're not really into the "act" there. Never tried the others, but Mama Melrose was on my list to try at Studios before we just decided to go over to the Poly that night.

I love both the Hollywood Brown Derby and the 50's Prime Time cafe. I'm trying the Sci-Fi next trip but plan to stick to a cheeseburger due to menu choices and reviews. The atmosphere, however, is supposed to be great!

50's can be fun but please understand that the servers are supposed to pick on you so if you don't like that type of thing; avoid. Also, I've eaten at 50's three times now and it wasn't until my last visit that I actually had a server that did that and it made all the difference. I had a blast!

we ate at CM buffet Hollywood and Vine and it was great. The food was good and the character interaction was among the best. Little Einsteins characters...

My husband and I enjoy Brown Derby. We also go to Hollywood and Vine b/c of the characters...my son loves this place...one of the best character interaction, He loves the song/dance ever 20 mins and then they have a parade...the food is ok but we go here for my son.

We went to Mama Melrose in December (08) despite mixed reviews. The food was excellent. This was one of my mom's favorite restaurant experiences during our week long stay. I had a pork dish (I normally don't like pork, but the entree sounded so good, I decided to give it a try.) It was excellent. My mother ordered a steak dish. She said it was the best steak ever!

Another vote for the Brown Derby, love the food. My husband loves the Sci-Fi, the food is ok, and sitting in a nice cool dark place is a nice break. You can run over to the Boardwalk or the BC/YC/Swan area very quickly so that is an option.

were going to 50's prime time. we went in 05 and loved it. tried today desperatly for mmri and or hollywood and vine for f! showing, no go for either. our ta had a horrible time trying to get anything there for a dinner ressie! so we had to settle for lunch!

I'm all about the Disney experience, so I like 50s Diner and Sci-Fi.. they have the most fun atmosphere. I can eat Italian or whatever else any other time. I always think about "what can I not get at home?" and it's usually the experience and fun Disney atmosphere.

thanks for all the replies!~ I never even would have thought to run over to the Boardwalk area!! I bet I could even take the boat there and back!

We had breakfast at Hollywood &Vine with the Little Einsteins...food was good. Thought the characters were great. Lunch at Sci-Fi...great burgers and shakes. Dinner was at The Brown Derby. Great food...was really busy though. We all thought the food was good. Our DD6 loved the kids menu at BD.:)

I would do Sci Fi for lunch, Brown Derby for dinner.

Bad reviews?! Well we found the 50' Prime Time to be great!! The food was good, the atmosphere was fun. In fact, it's a must on our next trip.

If it's CS you're looking for, there's the ones next to Tower or Terror/RRC, there's a couple of different counters if you want variety. ( Stay away from the ABC Commissary and you'll be fine )

We've eaten at Mama Melrose and Brown Derby and both of them were fine. It's been years since we went to 50's Prime Time so I can 't give you a recent recommendation. Next month we're going to try Sci-Fi for lunch.

HS has 3 of our all time favorite restaurants...

Brown Derby, Sci Fi Diner, and 50's Primetime Cafe. :thumbsup2

We have eaten at all 3 every trip for the last 12-13 years. We thouroughly enjoy the atmosphere, fun, and food at each restaurant.

Brown Derby - we love the Cobb salad, chicken, Grapefruit cake !!!

Sci Fi - usually burgers or grilled cheese here...love the movies

Prime Time - I love the meatloaf here !!! my DH loves the fried chicken !!! and they have great malts - this is always a good meal ;)
