I'm a WDW park hopper who needs a little help. I'm considering a DL vacation for the first time since 2006. I'm planning on visiting DL in either June or September in 2012. Since I don't get to CA often, I want to visit when the reno project is all wrapped up at California Adventure.

Can anyone give me some help as to when that might be? Or, are the renovations continuing into 2013?

Any info is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hard to believe it would not be done by June 2012 - especially by late June. See

Disney California Adventure Project Tracker XI

What happens after June 2012 will fall more in the category of normal park refurbs and not the massive undertaking happening now.

Thanks! That's got a lot of great info! I can't wait till the main gate and main street get their overhaul.

By the looks of it, Cars Land is only going to have one ride. I know it's going to be a big e-ticket attraction, but you'd think they'd have 2-3 rides in mind for a whole new land.

I can't believe they're going to change the Soarin' video! I love Soarin' so this has got me nervous!

I think that the new video for Soarin' is not 100% confirmed as of right now, (still a rumor) and even if it is, it would most likely not go in until late in the project as their first priority would be to finish all of the major construction first, IMO.

And Cars Land is actually going to have 3 rides, Radiator Springs Racers, Mater's Junkyard Jamboree and Luigi's Roamin' Tires (I think those are the right names for them). :thumbsup2

Cars land will have at 3 rides:
Luigi's Roamin' Tires - a new version of Disneyland's old Flying Saucers
Mater's Junkyard Jamboree
Radiator Springs Racers - Test Track type ride

I knew the DISers could help! Thanks for the links. I'm excited to get back to CA. There's a lot of "new" attractions to see since I last visited.

They "should" be done by June but as we all know delays happen. If Carsland will make or break your trip go in September. Plus if they open it in June the crowds close to opening are going to be epic. We planned our first trip for carsland for October.

Looks like we'll be there in Oct '12 also..DS (the one we went with in January and can't wait to go back) has already picked the days :)

When will DCA expansion be completed?

"Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world."—Walt Disney :upsidedow

However, the Carsland part should be done by the summer. WoC opened in mid-June. Little Mermaid is also going to open around mid-late June. So June might be a little iffy just because it's difficult to predict a year and a half out. I'm sure Disney wants to have it open in June...however, they originally wanted WoC open in March. For a good chance of Carsland being open, go in June. For an almost 100% guarantee, go in Sept.
