I'm sure in my excitement I'm just over analyzing it :magnify:

This is our first trip to WDW. We will be arriving by car around 7pm on a Friday night. I know that the Poly consists of several separate buildings and it looks like 1 large parking lot. Should we park and bring our bags in with us while checking in? Is there bell service at the door (like Hard Rock Hotel on the dark side)? Should we leave everything in the car with the anticipation that we may need to move to a different parking spot? Advice and information needed and appreciated!! :thanks:

We did not drive when we stayed at the Poly but there is Bell Services at the door of the Grand Ceremonial House. You can pull up. Unload the car onto one of those bell services carts - they will do it for you. You can go in and check in and your husband can go park the car. the kids can sit and watch tv in the lobby. Since it will be after 4pm your room should be ready and the bell services person will walk with you to the room with your bags. There is the one main parking lot and not different lots depending on the building you are in.
Hope that helps!

Thank you! That helps a lot.
I hate the idea of lugging a case of water around needlessly.

What we do at any hotel (resort) is just to park the car in the self parking area, walk to the check in, get everything settled and the room keys and then go to the room, see where it's at and figure out if the car is at a good spot or should be moved closer. Then you could go back to the car, move it around if needed to unpack yourselves or just do a run by the front to have bell services take the bags.

You can unload everything at Bell Services as well if you would like.

Decisions, decisions. Maybe we'll go by how tired we are upon arriving (it's only a 7 hour drive). If we're exhausted bell services can lug it to the room, and if the Disney energy has hit we will. Now if September will only hurry :ccat:

Since there is just the one main parking lot at the Poly, moving the car after finding one's room location is not really going to help. Pull up to the main entrance of the Great Ceremonial House (Poly lobby) and drop the bags off with bell services before parking the car. I can tell you from personal experience that this is the best way to go at the Poly.

I agree that this is the way to go.

I agree, since moving your car would only move it from one side of the lot to another, there's no need for that, it's so much easier just to pull in and let bell services unload your car for you. When we've stayed at the Poly (or pretty much any resort) we pull up let bell services unload our car (they give you a little ticket for your luggage) and then we go check in. After we are all checked in we either make a quick stop by bell services desk to let them know we are ready for our luggage or we just call down later. We also usually valet, it's worth it at some resorts more than others, but one less thing for us to worry about it on vacation so I'll take it.

:thanks:Thank you all!!!!
Sounds like the majority says bell services is the way to go. I will happily throw our luggage and water onto a cart and let someone else show us the way. The sooner we can begin our weekend the better :ccat:

I'm hoping we can get there earlier, hit a park for a short while and be back at the resort in time for the Electrical Water Pageant before our O'hana reservation at 9:45.
