Help! What's wrong with mousesavers.com???

Well, it was working fine..I just went to look up something and it was wierd again. I popped over to the laptop (barebones, just to drag to Disney) which has no virus protection, plain AOL (my regular computer is Road Runner, so I thought maybe they had their own pop up protection I didn't know about) dial up (with pop up allowed..it says so right on the bottom of the AOL screen), no firewall, and this is what I see on the first page I go to (I blocked out the codes myself). This is all new to me, I've never had a problem with it before...and I have no idea why I'm missing words. The laptop has no protection of any kind.

Just in case you are interested Mary..I certainly don't expect you to change anything, I just wanted to show you what I'm seeing...it just started last night.

That happens to me all the time when I'm using AOL. If I open IE, then everything is fine.

I have Road Runner (cable) on my main computer running IE..If it's happening to you just on AOL, then you might have to click on the bottom margin (as she said) of Mary's page and give AOL permission to show pop ups. In my case, it skips words on both RR and AOL..neither of which have the pop up blocker enabled. It's been fine for me, right up until yesterday. I've never had a problem.

I'm learning more and more about these darn blockers. <sigh>

It appears that AOL, Earthlink and probably some other ISPs have built-in blockers that are turned on by default. You'll have to poke around in the settings to turn them off.

I updated my FAQ with a much more extensive list of solutions:

Sorry it's such a pain... unfortunately there's not a thing I can do about it, except show people how to change the settings on their computers.
