Help! What use year is best?

Help please. Which is the best use year for travel. We travel mostly July, August, October, November and December.

I'm also confused as to the 11 month window. Does this mean that if I have a July use year I can make reservations 11 months form then?

I think a June UY would be best and UY has nothing to do with booking restrictions just when the points are used from a to. I am not sure there is a July UY.

june would be the best UY month for you.

UY has NOTHING to do with when you can book a reservation. you can book 11 months out at your home resort and 7 months at any other DVC resort, regardless of your UY month.

June UY. You can make your reservations 11 months prior to your check in date at your home resorts and 7 months at the others.

Go find the best contract you can. Whatever use year that contract has is the best use year for you. I think people put far too much emphasis onto use year - especially people like yourself who travel in many different months.

If you want to ignore that advice [many people seem to ignore my advice ] I would encourage you not to think of finding the best use year, but think of avoiding the worst use years.

I agree your priority should be to the contract first then the use year. Just remember the rationale for getting a specific UY is related to your banking deadlines.

Ideally, your UY will be right before you most travelled vacation time. This way if you have a planned and you have to cancel, you don't run into a situation where you are in jepoardy of losing point because you miss your banking window (4 months prior to UY).

That said, I've been fortunate in never having to cancel a trip, so when my UY falls has been a non-issue.

Also if you cancel less than 30 days before arrival your points go into the holding account and regardless if still in banking window they ahve to be used before the end of the UY.
