We have tball on Tue nights DH goes straight to the field from work, 5:30 I bring the kids. It is over at 6:30 so I need something maybe in a crock pot that is kid friendly. Past two weeks we went to McD's Kids were happy but my stomach doens't do so well with it!

Even if it is a dish that takes about 2 hours to cook would be fine that I could put in the oven before we leave.

Well, I don't have a crock pot recipe but I can't say enough about our George Foreman grill and how fast it cooks stuff. We have ice skating and hockey around dinner time all winter and I found if I marinaded the meat or used a rub the kids will actually eat meat!! If the meat is thawed you can have pork chops, cuts of beef or chicken in 7 minutes. I microwave a vegetable or get a ready made salad in a bag and we're eating 10 minutes after we get home. My dd loves hamburgers on it. They take 8 minutes though.:)
Maybe that would be a good night to have "make your own sandwich" night.

I may have posted this one before under a crock pot thread, but it's easy and good:

French Onion Beef Au Jus (French Dips)

Combine in Slow Cooker:

3-4 lb.. Boneless Beef Roast
1/2 c. soy sauce
1 clove garlic
1 pkg.. dry onion soup mix
5 c. water
2 large onions sliced

Cook for 6-8 hours, slice meat. Serve on warmed French rolls Serve with sliced Swiss cheese, dip in Au Jus.

enjoy!

I forgot about this one until I made it tonight per my 8 year old's request. She always tells me what a good cook I am when I make this... LOL !!

EASY TACO MAC

1 box Velveeta Shells and Cheese (prepare according to directions on box
1 pound ground beef browned and drained
1 jar Taco Bell Taco Sauce

Combine and stir until heated through

Yummy that last one sounds like a kid favorite and easy! I have a roast to try! I also picked up some meat balls thought that would be easy for either sandwiches, with ravoli,....
thanks!

well if you like chinese food i take boneless spare ribs put them in the crock pot with au so sause and let cook for about 4 to 5 hours. serve over rice it is really good.
