Help! What to give 2 year old when throwing up?

I know this is an older post but I have to just clarify. The BRAT diet is:

B-Bananas
R-Rice
A-Applesauce
T-Toast (dry, no butter or jelly at all to start out with)

The T is NOT for Tea...it is a diuretic and also has caffeine as a rule. As for what the pediatricain said....well behind every doctor is a BETTER nurse!

Thanks for making that clear, lilallybean. That is what we always did when our kiddles were sick.

When their tummy settles down, I usually have good luck giving them a freezer pop -- the kind with the frozen liquid inside the plastic sleeve. They are 2 oz which is the amount of liquid our pediatrician recoomends to start with. I give 1 about ever hour or so and then gradually increase the frequency.

Hope he's feeling better soon.

Try some small sips of flat coke. (Just a few turns in a blender should take away the carbonation).
:D

Just wanted to share a tip I had gotten for getting the carbonation out.
Run a spoon under hot water, stir the soda. Repeat until flat as you want it.

Also I give the teaspoon full every 15 mins in a 3oz dixie cup, that way it "seems" like your drinking more than it is.

Glad to hear your DN is doing Ok.
