Help...what To Do With Teens

I have been to WDW many times, but this time with 2 teens. One 13 one 16. Are there any clubs or special things for them to do? Does anyone know????

They will probably enjoy the two thrill rides at MGM as well as the new Everest attraction.

They will probably also enjoy spending time at the water parks. And they may be able to spend plenty of time at DisneyQuest.

And let's face it, I'm sure they'll enjoy the Magic Kingdom. Who wouldn't enjoy a ride on Pirates, the HM, Space and Splash mountains?

I saw a lot of teens at Disney Quest. My twins (12) love that place. Have you been to Blizzard Beach? We haven't been yet, but we are going next month. It seems to be themed to appeal to that age. We went to TL last year and really liked that, and I am sure your teens would enjoy it (getting to swim with sharks is really cool!).

And of course going to the parks is fun for all ages.

I have a 16 yr old and an almost 13 yr old, and have never had to ask this question or had them ask me for something to do at night. They both love the parks, the rides, the fireworks and parades, and if they aren't exhausted by the time we get back to the room, they head to the game room at the resort for an hour or so. They are veteran WDW visitors and really just like to be in the parks as long as they can. They are usually bushed by the end of a long day and just want to watch a little TV before going to sleep.

There is always Disney Quest or the video/game room at the ESPN club at the Boardwalk.

And if you have a group of at least 5 or even 6 people, go to Beaches & Cream and order the Kitchen Sink for some laughs and delicious icecream. It's about $22 which isn't bad considering it'll be more than enough for every single person and they will probably not even finish it.

My boys are 13 & 15 and they like mostly all the rides, resort pools and arcade, as well as Disney Quest. We haven't been to any of the water parks yet but I am certain they'd love those as well. Some older kids think of Disney as being too babyish....it all depends on their attitude I guess. I have friends whose kids didn't want to go to Disney at 9, and others whose kids have gone from a young age into their 20s. There are no special clubs for teens that I am aware of. There are certain rides that are considered thrill rides such as Rock'n'Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror at MGM, Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom and even the mountains at Magic Kingdom (Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain & Space Mountain.) Like everything, it depends on the kids. Have fun!

When my boys were that age they loved all of Disney, Although we never went to DisneyQuest. If we ever had down time at the resort they loved to go to the arcade. They also just liked walking around the resort with their walkmen. When we were at Caribbean Beach they enjoyed going down to the beach and the hammocks at night. My boys are now 19 and 22, and the 22 year old just said today that he would love to go back to Disney.

I am sorry, I must not have explained myself orginally. My teens LOVE WDW and do not, by any means, get bored or ask me if there is anything else to do. This is where they want to vacation every year. I was asking about something new and different for them to do, like a night club for teens or a special dance,.. ..something of that sort. Maybe in downtown disney or pleasure island. I know that pleasure is geered mostly for 18 or older, but I just thought there maybe something I missed for them,., Thanks for all your advice.

i went to disney world last year when i was 17. to tell you the truth, i didnt need anything "special" to keep me occupied.. the parks alone were enough for me. as someone said earlier, when we got back to the hotel, my sister (who was 20 at the time) and i would just walk around the hotel. i think your teens will have fun!

I don't know if this is the kind of suggestion you mean, but your 16 year old can do the Segway tour in Epcot. My kids enjoyed snorkling in the Living Seas, parasailing at the Contemporary and a fishing excursion at the Boardwalk. Have they done the sports experience at WWoS?

I have 3 teens, but they just love being at the parks like we do. My oldest prefers to workout in the exercise rooms or play basketball when we stay at OKW.

Thanks for the advice. I will look in the segway tour and the snorkeling. Not sure if it is in my budget though, sometimes those extras are mighty pricey...thanks alot

I am 17 and I have always LOVED WDW in its entirety lol. I love just spending time with my family and living up timeless memories and moments! I'll tell you one thing though, I can't stand Disney Quest or that whole area there. I only like the Market Place and nothing else around there. It just feels unDisney-like to me.

Hmmm...let's see, my favorite ride is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. I would list others but clearly a novel is unnecessary... lol. I'd say teens like myself just enjoy riding as many rides as possible, staying up really late (getting in those EMH lol) and getting up really early lol.

I find the World Showcase rather boring (for the most part) and can very well do without that part of the vacation lol. However, I must say, it is interesting and amusing in some areas.

I say, just do as you'd naturally do. lol.

I remember this past July (we were at WDW) and my sister and I decided to head over to the Magic Kingdom for the EMH. My parents stayed at the resort. Anyway, I felt like a piece of the "magic" was missing the entire time. Honestly, it was not as fun without my parents being there along side us enjoying the rides, hilarities, and other precious moments. Your teens, I am sure, will do just fine without specialized scheduals lol.

Thanks, I think you are right. My kids love WDW and the idea of just being there and the magic of it all is what they love ( and me too!)
We are dying to try everest, soaring and the new "rollercoaster" slide in TL.
We are going for 11 nights, 6/29-7/10...can't wait!!!

surely you jest DavidR. .. my two teenage boys can eat a kitchen sink with very little help from Mom and Dad..

As others have said, my teen age boys still enjoy WDW. They do different things at times. But between water parks, Thrill rides, hanging out at the resort pool, arcade, DisneyQuest and playing min golf, they have a great time..

I have 3 teens. They want to spend an evening or two at Disney Quest and have time in the evenings to hang at the resort and pool area. My oldest (17 boy) wants to do Fantasmic and they all want to do the Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream and then walk on the boardwalk. They also want to go back to the parks and spend a few nights at the parks. So much to do, so little time.

They also want lots of waterpark time.
