We just found out that our plane departure has been moved back 4 hours. :confused3We will not leave until 7 pm in the evening. Our first question is: Will the DDP be deactivated as soon as you checkout at 11 am? If not, we could have one of our meals that day. Also, if we buy another ticket into the parks, will the resort store your luggage for you? And finally, if anyone has ever used the Orlando Stroller Rentals, do you think we would be able to keep that until later? Thanks for any input/suggestions you could give--especially if you've been in this predicament before.

Your DDP credits are good until midnight of checkout day.

Yes, the resort will hold all your luggage - we almost always do that - check out, spend the day in the parks, then head for the airport or the car.

And I don't know about the stroller rental thing.

We do that on purpose! :rotfl: If you are traveling to MCO via ME, then you need to call MS and let them know that your flight has changed so that you don't get stuck hanging around the airport all afternoon. DDP is good until midnight on the last day of your stay. If you are planning to use it, make sure that you have the needed credits remaining for whatever meals and snacks you are planning. If you already have tickets, then you will only need to add one day to your tickets, which you can do at any ticket site at any of the parks or at TTC. When you are ready to check out, you will need to get your luggage to the resort's check-in/bell services (we usually call for a golf cart and bellman at SSR) and then if you are using the resort airline check in, they will check your bags and you won't see them again until you land at your final destination. If you have carry-on bags, those will be stored for you at bell services, free of charge. Make sure you allow yourself an extra 15 minutes to get back to your resort to retrieve your items before ME comes to pick you up. Not sure about the stroller rental because we haven't used it, but I would venture to make an educated guess that it won't be a problem. Enjoy having the extra time on your last day!

Help? What to do after check out?
This has got to be the easiest question ever.
CHECK BACK IN

Do you really want to leave and go home?
Being DVC members you're just going to be coming back anyway.
Save on airfare, don't leave.
It takes fuel to run that jet, conserve and save our planet.

Ok....you've really got to get rid of that picture...that's terrible. :sad2:

I LOVE THIS IDEA!!!! Now if only, my DH would agree.

Thanks so much to all!! Now I understand that our delayed flight is a blessing in disguise. More time in the World!! :cool1:

I don't know if I would cut it that close, unless you mean to be BACK at the resort at least 15 minutes prior to ME.

We recently had a 6:25pm flight out of MCO. Disney's ME gave us a pick-up time of 3:25pm that afternoon. We gave our luggage to Bell Services had a late character breakfast to get that last bit of magic in before heading home, then went to DTD for a couple of hours and ate a late lunch there. Got back to the resort a little after 2pm and just relaxed until the shuttle came. The kids got to watch those old Disney cartoons that they play in the lobbies of the resorts one last time, too. Personally, we don't go into the parks every day of our vacation as it is, so we wouldn't choose to do a park day on our check out day (but that's just what works for us).

Whatever you choose to do, enjoy your extra time!:hourglass

We always leave as late as possible, use the resorts airline checkin and depending on the weather, we either hang out at the pool or visit a park or DTD. Since we keep our valubles in our carry on we lock it in the car if we rented one or put them in a locker by the pool if we use DME. Theme pools have lockers and all resorts have a place to change. They will hold your carry on if you like but can't be responsible for valubles.

We usually visit DHS on our last day. Even though we always change prior to leaving the resort (in the change room) I like the fact that there are no water rides at DHS. One less thing to worry about is wet clothing.
One trip we spent the last day at the pool. That was nice too!! Very relaxing. Where are you staying?

Great ideas!!! We will be in Kidani Village. I had forgotten about the lockers as well. I love all my DIS experts.:goodvibes

We stayed at Kidani and had a 6:30 pm flight home. We checked our luggage and had a nice morning and lunch at Epcot (we have annual passes so going to a park wasn't wasting a day). On our previous trip to OKW we went to Typhoon Lagoon, came back to OKW for a late lunch and then got the ME for MCO. We really like doing it this way. We've gone to Disney several times and caught early flights home and it was pretty depressing, especially when we had to get up so early to leave The World. This gives us almost another whole day of fun.

Another tip is to schedule a time with bell services at least the day before. We asked for tips after once waiting about 90 minutes for our luggage to be picked up which meant we were leaving our room well after the required check out time. Ever since, I call about two days before leaving to schedule a pick up time on our checkout day which does kinda put a damper on the magic. The plus side is that we get as much time in the parks as possible after checkout since we don't have to wait for bell service pickup. They take our bags, give us a receipt and we can leave our room and head directly to the parks.
