We are leaving for WDW in 2 weeks and I have just begun to pack. We were there last year with our DS (3) and I am trying my hardest to remember what items I wished I had brought on that trip... Also this will be our first trip traveling with a DbD (10M).

What are your favorite items to pack with small children? I really don't want to get there and 'wish' I had brought...

TIA! :flower:

Small first aid kit and Purell that is in a round pump. It fits in the cup holder on our stroller. ::MinnieMo

I'll echo the ziploc bags. I use them for so many different things.

In addition to purel hand gel, I also bring hand wipes, for sticky hands after ice cream :)

children's meds (tylenol, dimetapp, etc)

small first aid kit with band aids, neosporin, etc

stroller cover--in case it rains

familiar snacks

laundry supplies

travel size magna doodle

Another vote for ziploc bags of various sizes...use them to keep things organized in my backpack and eases me through the security check points since you can see in the bags. I keep one with meds, one with mini first aid kit and others with whatever needs to be separated.

Another vote for the antibacterial wipes...I buy the ones that are individually wrapped like you get at a restaurant...find them near the picnic items in the grocery store. This way I can pack a few in the first aid kit, some in another ziploc...they are good for cleaning sticky, messy hands, strollers, whatever and they can double for a bum wipe for the toddlers, just remember to not flush them.

I also pack a nightlight that I keep plugged in the bathroom...better than a bright light in the middle of the night and still not as bright as a closet door partially open.

Dollar Tree ponchos...you get 2 for a buck and if you use them you can just pitch them. I actually took 12 of these on our last trip in June...it rained every day we were there so they were great to have on hand. They can double as a stoller cover also.

Another vote for the laundry supplies...I pre-measure one load into a snack size ziploc, and take how many I think we might need during the trip. I put these and dryer sheets inside a freezer (stronger plastic) quart size bag with about 8 clothes pins...if you don't have the clothspins..Dollar Tree has them and they have plastic.

Clothspins are good to hold up swimsuits in the room, snack bags closed...many uses.

Flashlight...you never know when you might have an emergency with no power. I use mine in the middle of the night so I don't trip over DS shoes that he tends to leave near the end of his bed.

Well, that's all I can come up with for now...normally I just keep those must have travel items packed in a bag under the bed so it's there when I need it.

Thanks for starting this thread. I'm packing as I type and I had forgotten about a couple of these things (ie -clothes pins, magnadoodle)

Don't forget swimmy diapers.
Also, I like to take a Crayola ColorWonders Coloring Book and markers - the markers only color on the special paper.

Are you planning on buying Mr. PotatoHead parts at DTD? If so, take your spud along so that you don't have to buy a new one.

That's all that I can think of. If I remember any more while I'm packing, I'll update.

I totally forgot about the swimmy's! But I found a great pack of the Color Wonders stuff at Costco for $12 (paints, paper, finger paints, markers).

What is the Mr. Potatohead about? Do they sell different ones at DTD?

bandanas. You can use them to clean up, as a head covering (or back of neck), or a pirate cap!

Zip lock bags...can't do without 'em in all sizes!

Purell hand-wipes

SUNBLOCK!!

Bandannas

HATS!!

Masking tape. I used it a lot, but I'm not sure why!:confused3

Scissors, if you're not flying

Nightlight

Don't forget, if you're staying at a Disney resort you can ask for extra laundry bags for wet/dirty stuff. They're very sturdy and useful. I was wishing on our last day that we'd asked for more.

At the DTD toy store the lady realized we were buying for many different kids, and threw in tons of extra bags. These were really handy for coming home. I put different families things in them, labeled them and taped them shut (OH! DUH! that's what I used the tape for. But I used it for other stuff too).

Bring CLOROX WIPES!!!! You can get the trail size packets at a Sams club. There are nine wipes to a packet, and you get 15 packets in a box ( I think). They are so so so handy for anything. Dirty tables, kids that come up and touch your childs stroller ( not being mean, I am ocd on clean! LOL ) Bathroom potty, before you put down a potty seat cover, anything...... I buy them so much, Clorox should put me on their Christmas list!!!!

They are in a blue green pack... and they run around 2.50 per a box...

Hope this helps!

I would like to know too? What store at DTD and what exactly do they sell?

To the OP, thanks for starting this thread. We leave in 5 weeks and I am just starting to make my packing list now.

I would also add chargers for all of your electronic devices to the list. We need to pack our cell phone chargers, our digital camera charger, our Leapster charger, and our mini-DVD player charger. Couldn't survive the plane ride without our Leapster or mini-DVD player!

Hope you have a wonderful trip! :flower:

Oh, I just thought of a question. Do any of you pack toys for your kids to play with in the room? I am not sure what to do. A part of me thinks we will be so busy and we will be buying souvenirs (SP?) that it wouldn't be necessary to pack any extra toys. But then there is the other side that thinks we will have down time in the room, so I should pack a few.

Thanks in advance for letting me know what you do! :flower:

Don't forget something for your baby to suck on during take off and landing if you are flying. I am taking gum and suckers for my DD, in case my 18mo won't suck her thumb.
