HELP! What is this book series?

My sponge brain just won't come up with it -- I've read all the available books in this series, and can't remember the author's name. It's similar to the Scarpetta books. It's about a woman in New York who is the head of the Sex Crimes prosecution unit. Her current boyfriend (in the series) is a French restaurateur. She has one "sidekick" who is a police detective. She owns a house that she bought with her late fiancee in the Martha's Vineyard area. If this rings bells, please help me!
