I have a 13 year old brother and a 12 year old nephew who have never liked legos at all. I would say that they don't have the patience to sit still and work on them, but that's not the reason because my brother would spend hours setting up train tracks and loved to collect Thomas trains.
On the other hand, my DS9 has started to really get into legos. He got a set for his birthday and is getting a couple of sets for Christmas. Since legos are so expensive, I would ask her about them in particular. (My mom hates legos and doesn't want them in her house. She also refuses to purchase them for my DS

)
My local
Walmart only had the museum break in set discounted for their pre-BF sale. We think DS will really enjoy that one but I was hoping for more.
I also found a Coast Guard set in the discounted toy section a few weeks ago.
I always like to get bikes, balls, and nerf guns because they promote physical activity. If you can find something really cool on his reading level to help interest him in reading, I think books are great, too!
