Help. What could this be? Medical question.

I feel so bad for my Dad.

He has been a pretty healthy person all his life.

He gets flare ups the past few years where he experiences excruciating pain in his arms, chest and back. Some days it is all three areas and some days just one.

He can barely stannd to be touched because it hurts so bad and is so tender.

He has seen Dr. after Dr. I've tried to figure out if it follows where his lymph nodes are located and that doesn't seem to be the case. He hasn't had shingles. I thought he had.

He had a mylogram last week and was hoping that would give him some answers.

Any ideas???? Thank you so much for any info.

Sounds like some sort of inflammtory thing...costal chondritis(inflammation of the connecitve tissue between the ribs). Maybe polymyalgia rheumatica, which is a form of arthritis. My Dad had that...could barely lift his arms to comb his hair, went to the doc, started on Prednisone and it got better pretty quickly.

Does he get weak, dizzy, blurred vision???? Maybe MS or one of the neuromuscular diseases????

Yes, he has had problems with dizzy spells. He had a MRI and they said he did not have MS.

His cardiologist thought maybe he "put things back" incorrectly after his bypass in 1998 but they have thoroughally checked that over and determined everything was fine.

I'll mention the things above. He's a pretty strong man and I have seen him reduced to tears over this.
