Help! Week before or after Xmas?

Any suggestions to whether or not we should go before or after Christmas? Are the crowds about the same? Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

We were there the week before Christmas last year. On Friday the 19th, it began to get a lot more crowded and on Saturday the 20th, it was too crowded for my taste. I suggest the week before because school won't be out and you will have a chance. Maggie

The week before is definitely better. We have been twice the week before and twice Christmas week. BIG difference.

If you can go before Christmas, definitely do that! We went one year in mid-December.. No crowds and all of the Christmas decorations are up! It is a wonderful time to visit.

Christmas week is the busiest week of the year at WDW! We were there once for it and it had to wait on extremely long lines for everything! Not just rides, but everything...just going to the bathroom during Christmas week can be a fifteen minute adventure.

The week after Christmas...The week between Christmas and New Years...is traditionally one of the highest volume times of the year...sometimes even busier than the summer. I would definately try to get there the week before, or even better if you can get there the first week of December, which is, IMHO, the best time of the year to go.

We were in Disney last Dec 19 - 23. It was great the 19 - 22 but on the 23 everyone must have arrived and it was very crowded. We were in MK that day. It was our last day so we did not mind at all since we had seen everything and were just doing some of our favorite rides.

I would say go the week before. I heard last year that the week between Chrismtas and New Years that MK reached capacity, they started sending people to MGM and it reached capacity.

Just something to think about.
