Ok I am sooo excited , we may get to stay at DVC now thanks to dh friend.

I am currently set up to be at POR Alligator Bayou I think room rate is, 160.00 (rack rate). we are on the dining plan right now and have 7 day hoppers.

Someone dh works with has alot of DVC property, and said he will see what he can do for us tonight. I have the understanding that I can still have my DDP but it needs to be paid for in cash upon arrival. I am assuming this is correct? The DVC property owner needs to tell them when they make the arrangments.

If I can pick were i want to be at what would be best choice ?

There is 6 total 1 is a baby-Me , DH , 11, 8, 5, 2 y/o

the 2 girls can share a bed and the baby will have a pak n play.
whe don't plan to make big meals or anything , we mostly want the room to move around when we are there. It would be nice to put the baby to bed without all of us sitting in the dark if we are not tired.

I really have no idea about them so any input is GREATLY appreciated !

I know they are not monorail hook up BUT I wold like something that is not way off the beaten path. easy transportation would be ideal!

You options may be limited bases on availability, that is a busy time period for all resorts. I've only stayed at the following WDW DVC properties: Beach Club Villas (where we own), Boardwalk Villas, and Villas a Wilderness Lodge. My favorite so far obviously is BCV, followed by VWL, lastly BWV.

If swimming is an important factor, BCV has one of the best pool that I've seen (Storm-Along-Bay)......I wish POR (formerly Dixie Landing) had this when my son was 2 yrs old, it would have been so much fun with the ZERO ENTRY POOL and the sand. We also love the location, as we spend a lot of time in MGM and Epcot so this is a great location for us.

Then you have VWL, love the location (close to MK) and the theming took me by surprise (as I'm not a nature kinda gal) but I loved it's cozy feeling. I personally think this would be a really neat place to stay during the holidays.

Do you or anyone have any idea what we are looking at for cost??

We check in in 12/18 and leave 12/26. I am not sure what room size we would need. I see where it says 1 bedroom and studio and all but no idea what my cost maybe or how many people they hold. I am sure a studio would be like 2-4 people max. I know its late but I am going to give it a shot, with him having many properties bought into I am hoping I can get something then , and if not well then POR is fine too.

Next year we will plan diffrently thats all!

If I am paying 160.00 a night plus tax for 8 nights how will that compare to same amount of time at one of those??

6 people, I beleive you'd have to get a 2 br villa; studios and 1 br only sleep 4.
Looking at the points charts, here's how many points it would take for a 2 BR for the following resorts:
BCV, BWV, VWL - 350 pts
SSR - 316 pts
OWK - 290 pts

It would be up to your friend, as to what the cost is. Most people on these boards rent for approx $10 per pt.

As far as POR goes, to this day this is still one of my favorite resorts.....we stayed there when it was called Dixie Landing, stayed in the Mansions....I have so many good memories there. So if you decide to stay where you are or if that's the way it works out, I'm sure you will still have alot of fun and enjoy yourself.

You would need a two bedroom villa with six people. You can't put five plus one in a one bedroom.

Bad news, everything may already be booked for your time period. Most members make their holiday and Dec reservations at 11 months out.

If your friend can make a reservation for a two bedroom, most likely it would be at SSR or OKW. Figure about $10-12 per point. You can find out how many points it would take for your reservation on the DVC boards at the top of the page. Dec 21 and 22 are Fri and Sat and would be almost double for the night over the other nights. You'd need 293 points for eight nights in a two bedroom at OKW from Dec 18-Dec 26. I think you will spend a lot less staying at POR unless the friend is going to cut you a very good deal (like $3 a point). SSR would be more points than OKW.

i am sure it will be fun reguardless too. I know he wants to get them rented out , offered dh 100.00 for every one he can help him rent out.

I just thought if i can stay there for the same amount why not, sounds like he wants to get something rather then nothing. if he can not get us anything then POR is fine with me, otherwise I would of not booked it.
