HELP...we are getting a new puppy today!!!!!

I am also going to ring in that 5 weeks is too early to bring a puppy home and away from its mom...

What are you in store for?? :) Let's see...

Forget about sleeping for the first few months! We brought our pug puppy home (8 weeks old) in October, and he's JUST learned that he is supposed to sleep until we get up... He gets us up when he sees daylight to eat... 6:15am..... every day... he's just learning now what "weekends" are.

Would I give it up? NEVER!! I have never fallen in love with a dog SO fast - and he loves us back... I protect him as if he's a child. (He is!! He's our baby).

But please remember that training takes time and patience. Never yell at your puppy... Or it won' want to spend time with you. (Would you want to spend time with someone who yells?) But be consistent - right from the start, and it'll pay off in the end.
Even if he's doin something naughty and its' cute - don't laugh - they learn what that means REAL fast.

I wish you the best of luck - buying a dog is the only time in your life you can "choose" your relatives. :)
