Hey Folks! So, I've been playing with my numbers and I'm just about ready to book a trip to WDW in October. My girlfriend and I were there this past January and we had a blast! We've been living together since this past June. It's been bliss. i've known for a while that she's the one, but it dawned on me after our trip - i want to propose to her at disney.

on 10/24, we will hit our 2 year anniversary. at that time, i will surprise her and let her know we are going on a trip on 10/26 (i'm confident i'll be able to square everything away with her boss for vacation time and still keep the trip a surprise). I will not tell her where we are going until we get to the airport (pending she doesnt see the mickey mail before then).

here's where i need help - how should i do it?? i was thinking of writing someone at disney for any help they can provide - something to make it very special! i'm sure that will be a dead end, so i need a back up plan!

i hope some of the disney pro's can give some good advice! :)

post me some suggestions!! :)

you might consider a special dinner, such as victoria and albert's, perhaps with the waiter bringing a covered dessert (which would, in fact, be the ring). you might also have a disney photographer take your picture in front of the castle at night (when it is lit and changing colors) and have the photographer say "say...proposal!" (instead of "say mickey") then you drop to one knee and ask. congratulations and good luck!

Disney has a wedding planning department...you might want to give them a call and see if they have any suggesitons for a proposal, although I kind of like momof1princess's idea.

i love the "say...proposal!" suggestion! i'll look into victoria and alberts as well, we're by no means fancy people - but - i think getting fancy for this will be worth it :)

Disney florist can help with this kind of thing too. I know they have will deliver a glass slipper or tiara on a satin pillow. I remember reading that they will assist in special events and proposals....maybe give them a call. Getting a glass slipper and ring delivered during dinner at Cinderella's Royal table would be pretty darn cool.

Good Luck!!!

this is a good idea too!! :) i'm glad i've got a ton of time to figure it all out. i wish i could do all these things!

We were having dinner in Cinderella's castle on a MNSSHP night. There was a couple two tables over and the man was dressed as Prince Charming. At the end of dinner, he got down on one knee and proposed in front of the entire restaurant. I still get goosebumps thinking about it.

If my husband would have proposed at WDW, here are some that I would have wished for:

- on the TTA (love that ride after dark)
- on the beach of the Polynesian during the fireworks
- by the fountain in EPCOT
- late at night, any of the quiet benches between the castle and Tomorrowland
- The "secret" garden in Japan or Victoria garden in Canada

My DH "went to the bathroom" and talked with a PhotoPass photographer while I "held our spot" in line for Spectro right before Wishes.

It was SO amazing all they did for us.

In hindsight, I should have seen it coming, but I was in total shock.

The PhotoPass photographer set up an area to the left of the castle and two "undercover/plainclothed" CM's shooed people away from the front of the camera.

We have our whole proposal in photos! (They also did a really nice photo shoot with us afterwards!)

I agree with a lot of what has been suggested here already. Whatever you do will be such an amazing memory for her!!!! :goodvibes In my book, you can't go wrong with proposing in front of the castle or by Cinderella's well. So romantic!

This is what I was going to post. A friend of my niece did this:thumbsup2 The pics were absolutely wonderful.

Here is how it went down for me. In September 2004 Hubby and I got to MK on our first day at rope drop. We headed up to the castle because he said he wanted to get a good picture with less people in the background. We went right up to the castle courtyard and out of no where he dropped down to one knee and asked me to marry him. It was so awesome because it was so unexpected. I'm a really simple no frills girl so I really loved it.

We headed back down Main Street to get a photopass picture and on our way down we saw a CM we had talked to on our way to the castle. He asked me why I was crying and I told him we had just got engaged. He announced it to all of Main street and everyone clapped for us. Then he got the Dapper Dans to come over and sing to us and we slow danced right on main street. It felt like we were in a movie. It's a day I will never forget.

I believe some things in life should be kept simple. November 1999, my "girlfriend" and I went down for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. As we walked in front of The Castle, in the middle of the big star or compass or whatever it is, I turned to tell her how happy she made me and how deeply in love I was. With that, I dropped to one knee. It was magical. People watching started to clap and congratulate us.

So, in advance... congratulations & good luck!!

two more awesome suggestions - thanks folks! i like the simple ideas as well - :) these are certainly giving me plenty to tap my chin with. keep them coming!

My son and his now wife love the Haunted Mansion attraction at Walt Disney World, and they are both huge Disney fanatics, so where better to propose? He did it while we were all waiting in line for the ride, and had her step out of line to get their picture taken by the photopass photographer, when he dropped on one knee. I think the photographer was more excited than my son's wife. Here are the photos.

thank you for sharing, that looks great for the two of them!

I love the in front of the castle at night idea  You can make sure you're the one with the PP card, give it to the photographer, quickly tell him your plans and ask him to constantly snap pictures.
Your girlfriend is a very lucky girl! If you feel like contacting my DBF and giving him some ideas, I wouldn't mind one bit...:lmao::lmao:
