Help! Waitlist didn't come through........

We are scheduled to be at AKV 1/1/2009-1/4/2009, but I was waitlisted for a different room category. I just called MS knowing we were inside the 30-day window to check on it. I was hoping something would come available due to people having to make final decisions about their trip before they got inside the 30 day window to have the points returned to account instead of holding. There is still nothing available to change to.

For anyone who has run into this before, do I need to call MS daily (which is almost impossible due to work situation) or just wait until the final week before our trip and then start trying daily? I know it is hard to predict when something may come up and someone will have to cancel their plans, but I would probably just have to get lucky and call just after they did. What have others found to work best? Any other suggestions or options that I can try?

I'm assuming you asked to be kept on the waitlist for up to 7 days? If you did your waitlist could still come thru. Our most recent waitlist came thru at about the 26 day mark. Pixie Dust to you!

No, the CM I talked to told me the 31 day waitlist had expired (which I knew) and my only option was to call on a daily basis and see if anything happened to come open. Did I get some bum information, or has the process/policy changed?

When I set up a waitlist for May I was asked at that time if I wanted it to end 31 days out or 7 days out. I think you got bum information and should call back to have the waitlist extended to 7 days out. It wouldn't hurt to call periodically just to check as well - that's what I would do.

Call back and make sure you are still on the waitlist. Waitlists do expire at the 31 day mark unless you specifically ask to stay on it.

All waitlists expire at the 7 day mark. At that point, if you still want something, you have to call and hope to get lucky. Some members will call daily at that point and others will call several times per day. Up to you.
