Help w/ Savanah view at AKL

This year my DH and I are celebrating our 1 yr wedding annv. at the AKL. This is a once in a lifetime trip so I booked a savanah view room. I guess my question is - should I ask for a specific savanah, floor, room number......etc. I really want to make the most out of this years trip and don't want to be dissapointed w/ our rooms, so many people have told me that they booked savanah rooms and had terrible views, views of walls things of that nature. I guess I'm just nervous that I'm spending alot of $ and may end up w/ a crappy room. PLEASE help.

We always stay on the Arusha Savannah, Zebra Trail--great view and plenty of animals. The restaurants and pool are located on this side of the Lodge.

I have to agree with pp that you want to request Arusha Savannah on the Zebra Trail side. It is closer to the pool and lobby on that side of the resort.

I put a lot of info on the savannas in the report above. Also included is a picture of the resort with room numbers as well as the "bad" view areas.

I have to agree with pp that you want to request Arusha Savannah on the Zebra Trail side. It is closer to the pool and lobby on that side of the resort.

Just want to add that we stayed at the Arusha Savannah/Zebra Trail about a month ago and we definately had the lowest frequency of animals. I would also request NOT to have a second floor. You don't get a maximum view or get to see the other savannahs too much otherwise. Choose a 3rd or 4th floor.
During our stay, we actually saw the most animals in the Arusha Savannah/KUDU Trail & in the Uzima Savannah.

In any case, I would try to request an upper level floor-makes alot of difference in your viewing.

I think putting in what requests you want in as early(request the one you really want first) as you can plus each time you pay on it check & see if request is there. MHO And you can request at anytime. Sometimes they can't honor them but at least you have down what you would like. I think also having a higher floor would be better. At least this what a CM told me when I book for this May.

I wouldn't want the to stay on the second floor either. We stayed on Arusha Savannah, Zebra Trail, 3rd floor and it was wonderful! Actually if you could also request to stay in the 3rd building down, that would place you right in the middle of the savannah, which would be perfect.
