Help w/room only for AKL any discounts or suggestions?

I have just booked my filght to WDW 2-6 to 2-11/05. We need advice to go with a travel agent (who), join AAA (is it worth it), or book on my own. We want to stay at the AKL & do some character dining. Any other savings or discount /tips would be great!

I used Dreams Unlimited (one of the board sponsors) and they got me a good rate. They can watch for the discount rates. They will also do your PS for you.

Based on other stories I would be very hesitant to use the AAA travel agency.

Not sure what the AAA rate is. You might try www.mousesavers.com and see if she has anything posted for AAA for your time period.

I stayed at AKL this year the last few days of January and the first few days of February for $109 a night with an AP discount. I booked the standard room but got upgraded to the savannah view.

You can call and book it yourself for room only. Join AAA, and just ask for the AAA price when you make the reservation. I think it took the price down by 15% or so with the AAA discount. I have never used the travel agengt at AAA but I love their maps and guide books....well worth the cost of membership when paired with the road assist service.
