For Christmas, we plan to tell our boys (9 & 11) that we will be going to WDW in January. We've been lots of times, it's their favorite place on earth, and they've been dying to go again.

So, for Christmas gifts, we were thinking of letting them figure it out. Clues, scavenger hunt, a subtle theme in the gifts....something like that. They love Hidden Mickeys, and I thought that might play well into this little scheme of ours.

Can you help us think of some ways to "plant" Hidden Mickeys? Some clues that would be fun for them to find? Some Disney items to include? Any ideas for stuff like this would be really helpful and fun!!!

One thing we already have is a portable DVD player, which will have the vacation planning video in it for them to play. Of course, that's not subtle at all, so it will have to be opened after the "We're going to Disneyworld!" clues are figured out.

They each need a new watch, so I'm thinking about giving them Mickey watches. They have loads of t-shirts, so that's not good, and we do have a few trading pins.

THANKS!!

You may also want to use disney theme name tags on the gifts. You could also give each of them an evenelope with directions where to find there last gift and send each off in different directions through the house going from one spot to the next until all have ended up back at the unopened dvd player and then open it as a family.

You could start the morning with pancakes laid out in 3 circles for Mickey! just a random thought there :D !! Have fun planning!

You could wrap gifts with Disney-Christmas themed wrapping paper.

There are also Disney Christmas ornaments - perhaps you could wrap them up and have them place on the tree Christmas morning.

Are Disney pyjamas too much?!

Or how about getting some Disney dollars for spending on your trip?

What about getting a Disney themed ornament and hanging it on the tree Christmas eve after they go to bed? See if they notice it. Or put a something Disney in their room like maybe a stuffed Mickey in the 9 year olds room. See if they notice that too.

My parents have surprised my brother and me with trips for Christmas in the past. We opened all our gifts under the tree in the morning, and we assumed that was it except for what we would get from relatives. That night, when we got back from visiting all our family, we found a big box in the middle of our living room floor. When we opened it, our tickets were inside. You could do something similar (if you visit relatives or something), but instead of plane tickets, you could put the dvd player with the dvd in it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Now my mischevious gears are really turning!
