Hey everyone,

For those who know about my situation with shyboy72, American Airlines
emailed me back today and gave me ticket vouchers without giving them a
doctors note, which was very nice of them. In the email they said the change
fee would also be waived. Thank god.

For those who have used ticket vouchers before, did you have to pay at all
after using the vouchers ? or was everything covered by it ? Did you have
trouble getting the flights you wanted ?

I'm anxious because our trip is in three months and I usually book my tickets
a year in advance. I also have to wait until the tickets get sent to me by mail
and according to the email, we should get them in 7-10 days. I'm going to be
waiting for those for sure.

Also, shyboy72 is doing great :) He is going back to work next week and is excited
to go. They had him take less meds so he is no longer as drowsy as he used to be
and he is sounding like his regular self. Well almost :) He is less negative, a little
more hypochondriacish, and he sings a lot now. Definitely nothing to worry about :)
He and I are totally STOKED about our trip on Oct. 10th and all we've been doing
is going on the DISboards, shopping at the Disney Store, listening to Disney music,
and watching Disney movies. I've also been looking at our pictures from previous
trips. Its crazy :)

If anything you should call the reservations line -NOW- and try and book your flights. Tell em about your vouchers and see what they say. I'm in DL from Oct 12-17... se ya at the mouse house!:thumbsup2

Can I call them even though I don't have the vouchers yet from being sent in
the mail ?? Will see you then !!

Recently we used vouchers that DH got for a bump (long story... offered a bump but then DH had to, while waiting for later flight, turn around back to JFK for family emergency .... so actual $$ from bump was a "gift" from above (since it was a business trip).
Well the bump was generous ($800) and realized we better use it this summer since it's only good for one year and we already had a family trip for December. Booked flights on line at aa.com. Then called it in to aa.com's phone number to say that we were using vouchers. So the tickets went from Hold to Paid and not to TICKETED. Was instructed to mail vouchers in to Milton FLA. So since we booked on AA.COM we avoided the $15 phone ticketing fee (per ticket) and even higher if we went to airport to turn in voucher (not including gas $ and parking). Told it would take about 2 weeks to show up as e-ticket. Didn't take that long. Sent voucher in via registered mail -- insured since the voucher was like cash and if it was lost it was "gone". So my advice is call aa.com cust. # for specific instructions.
Good luck. We're going in 3 weeks after a "hellish" family time since MLK day in January... it's a family break we're "so in need" of.
Glad to hear everyone is doing better.

You can make your reservation on -line. ( The on line fares are usually cheaper). There should be a point to where it askes for voucher numbers or gift card numbers and then a cc for any additional payments. The problem I see doing it this way is you may need to talk to a tech support to waive any additional fees.

Option 1-----It maybe easier to call and talk to tech support before you make on line reservation.

Option 2----- Make reservation and then put on hold for 24 hours-- (no payment required to do this). You will then need to take the reservation code and call the airlines reservation line and they should help you -- remind them you have additional fees that they are waiving.

Make sure they are not charging you a fee for making the reservation for you.

I hope this is of some help :)

Oh and have a wondrful trip -- you both deserve it :)

Patty
