Hello Humans!!:sulley:

We need your help! We are looking for suggestions for a girls night out dinner and will be making reservations soon!!

Here are the things we are looking for in a restaurant:

• Not requiring park admission!
• Would prefer a more adult atmosphere as it’s a night away from kids (yes, we know this is Disney and kids are inevitably but we don’t want something like Rainforest Cafe, TREX or Ohana that is more geared towards families and loud).
• Not your go to like Ohana since we have both ate there a few times and wanna try something new.
•Just want something relaxing and maybe something with a viewing area or somewhere we can wonder around after eating.

So for I have Topolino’s Terrace & Steakhouse 71 possibly The Boathouse

Thank you everyone!

I would do Topolino's. I just had Mother's Day dinner there and it was so good. The atmosphere is relaxed, but sophisticated and the food is amazing. The view is gorgeous. We timed dinner so we could ride the Skyliner over to the Boardwalk area as soon as the EP fireworks started so we had a really nice view as we rode the Skyliner. You can always wander the resort or take the Skyliner over to the Boardwalk and walk around over there. There is a lot of great entertainment on the Boardwalk or you could even consider going to Jellyroll's.

The Boathouse is good, but I prefer the atmosphere at Topolino's (much more quiet and sophisticated). I wouldn't do Steakhouse 71 for a girls' dinner. The food is fine, but there are no windows in the restaurant and I always feel like I'm eating in a basement.

You could also consider Toledo at CSR.

If you are looking for something at the resorts ( not sure where you are staying) I recommend flying fish, bluezoo, or narcossee.

If you are looking at Disney Springs I recommend something you don’t have near you. If you live on a coast and get great seafood I would not recommend boathouse, if you are from the south I don’t recommend homecomin’. They will not live up to what you are used to having at home. I am from New England so I thought homecomin’ was great but we don’t have fried chicken places. I get seafood all the time and thought boathouse was red lobster quality. I’m sure if you are from the south you think homecomin’ is just ok. Go with something you don’t frequently get and you will be happier than comparing it to the great options by you.

We are from Missouri and are staying at All Star Movies so no table service there lol but will have a car so travel isn’t an issue.
I understand what you mean, I had heard about homecomin’ and looked at the menu and was like that’s so $$ for those things lol again because we have those food items around here all the time. I’ve been to Boathouse but it was many years ago after it had first opened and enjoyed the atmosphere there since we were sat outside on the patio and it was right at dusk but that’s all I really remember about it, I couldn’t tell you what I ordered.

I love the Boardwalk area because you can have cocktails first at several places then grab dinner.

Flying Fish is always a favorite.

Kimonos if you go before 9pm (before karaoke) is good for sushi.

People adore Il Mulino. Sadly, I gave them 3 tries and never loved it.

Amare in Swan Reserve. I have not watched/read a bad review. We are finally trying it in July. The Swan Reserve also has a bar that is really nice and has craft cocktails, Stir.

Yachtsman or Schula if you want steak.

Lots of options and you can make a night out of it at the boardwalk area!

We recently had dinner at Trattoria Al Forno, and they were having a bad night, but the whole Boardwalk was. The parking lot for people coming in for dinner was closed. It was a mess.

I would go for an option where you can extend the evening with a couple of spots.
We love Victoria Falls lounge and a long dinner at Jiko.

Or start at Jock Lindsey’s, and then go on to Boathouse on the porch.

Or do a monorail crawl, with different small plates in different spots. Lots of videos on YouTube showing options.

Or Dahlia Lounge and Toledo.

We didn’t have the best meal at Cali Grill, but it was awesome to go out and watch the fireworks.

I know I'm going to be in the minority here, but me and my family did not like Toppolino's. My husband and I had the rigatoni dish and did not like the flavors. My daughter couldn't find anything that she liked and ended up ordering "kid style, pasta with spaghetti sauce. Ordered the lemon dessert and there was no lemon flavor in it. Toppolino's was very loud and A LOT of kids. I reallty don't mind the kids but it did not feel as "upscale" as we thought it would be. We ate at Shula's. I think that is more adult. I've heard good things about the Italian place in the Swam & Dolphin. There's the California Grill in the Contemporary. We haven't eaten there, the menu doesn't appeal to us, and I don't know how the atmosphere is like (hope not Toppolino') but the view is nice.

I had dinner at Topolino's just the other night and I highly recommend it. I did see a few kids, but they were very well behaved. For the entree's, the wine list and the desserts, fantastic. I did not do an appetizer, but several of them looked very nice.

So you want the hustle and bustle of Disney Springs or are you looking for some peace and quiet? Disney Springs if you want the hustle and bustle, Topolinos if you want quieter/easy. With an ADR you can drive and park at RIV. The viewing area is rather tiny at Topolinos, however the covered walkway from Skyliner to RIV has some nice views if you just wanna see some high fireworks and don’t need music. You’ll likely be there anyway as if you go to RIV you should check out the murals on the way to the Skyliner.

Topolino’s is my favorite meal on property. Start with gnocchi or burrata , pair your meat of choice with appropriate wine, enjoy the views of fireworks and or wander around the resort.

Any restaurant can of course have an off night, but think reviews are overwhelmingly positive for a reason.

Wine Bar George. You can sit on their balcony and it feels like you are still at DS but sort of in your own VIP seating area above the hustle and bustle. You can get full meals or great apps and desserts and also try wines from the best wine list on property or some really fun cocktails.

I know I'm in the minority but Topolino's was not a favorite for our group. I hate to say one and done because I like to always try to give a place a second chance but we haven't gotten around to that yet. A fan favorite in our group is Flying Fish. Food and service has been excellent each time and then there is a stroll around the Boardwalk, drinks at Abracadabar, Jelly-Rolls, boardwalk entertainment and Epcot fireworks. We do also enjoy Toledo at Coronado Springs and Citricos at GF.

Wine Bar George or Jaleo in Disney Springs, Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Flying Fish in the Boardwalk are my favorite nicer restaurants around property. For something a bit more budget friendly, Steakhouse 71, Il Mulino for pizza and pasta, and Morimoto Street Food are good.

Definitely yeah for Wine Bar George. Excellent spot for a group of friends interested in catching up with each other and noshing. The upstairs verandah gives you more privacy and space than the bar scene at street level. One of my favorite NYE memories 🙂.

Another possibility with a similar vibe is the Boathouse. Beautiful seating outdoors on the water, great drinks and fantastic fresh seafood bar. The man and I enjoyed their oysters on the half shell with the cucumber mignonette; often that’s all we ate for dinner, LOL. Heads up if oysters are your thing: the FL oysters are occasionally on special and taste muddy 😞.

Jaleo pulls out all the stops. Great food and drinks and just overall locale. Try a sangria here and it’s the real deal; fresh tasting and no over abundance of sweetness. There is a sausage and bean dish I would love trying again if it’s on the menu. The chicken croquettes (and Disney inspired presentation), potatoes Brava just fantastic.

We came to appreciate the eateries at DS as it’s simple to book via opentable.com and there are so many diverse cuisines.
