Help us decide between the 2

California Grill or Yachtsman Steakhouse.
For those of you who have been to these, which do you prefer & why.

California Grill--mostly because of the view, and the fireworks (if you like that sort of thing). We often do CG as our first night/getting in the Disney mood dinner. I also think it has a better selection (variety) for dinner, and some good appetizers as well.
Also a fine wine list.
Beer-wise, YSH is far superior, and it has more of a selection of steak.
BUT again, of the 2 I think I'd go to CG.

Have to go with CG also for all the same reasons as Uncleromulus said plus YSH was the only time we have had an extreamly bad meal. So bad where we did not go back for a long time. Have eaten there since and it's not on my must eat at places list. I think there are better places for steak at WDW with one just down the walk way in Shulas.

I would make sure that you check out the menus for both first. DH and I didn't like any of our food at CG, so we have never been back.

Have never been to YSH, can only rate CG...by far the best restaurant we've tried at WDW. Can't wait to do Christmas Dinner there...they have Duck 3 Ways, and that sounds fantastic!

I think it depends on what type of food you like. If you are meat and potato's people, then YSH. If you are a bit more adventurous, then CG. I recently took a friend to CG--she's by her own admission not terribly sophisticated, and was overwhelmed by the menu at CG--didn't understand what a lot of the foods were. I wished I had chosen the YSH instead, where I know she would have been thrilled.

Thanks everyone for your replies I agree they have different menus for sure. I was leaning more toward CG while DH liked Yachtsman menu.

We decided we're going to have Anniversary dinner at California grill and also going to try Yachtsman Steakhouse later that week.

CG has some of the best food I've had ANYWHERE -- not just at WDW. Don't be put off by the gourmet-ish sound of some of the food on the menu. Everything sounds much, much more fancy than it is!! Awesome location, fantastic food...what more could you want? This was my first choice for Christmas Eve dinner, but I didn't want to inflict my 3 children on other diners. Dh didn't think it would be too cool to have our holiday meal without the kids. Oh, well.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is one of our favorite restaurants at WDW and we eat there every single trip. We like Calif Grille, too, but find it always too packed and noisy for our taste.
