We currently have lunch reservation in June for Tony's but have been iffy about it. Two non-picky adults and a picky pre-schooler, staying at BWV, will have our car, and don't mind going out of the park to eat. We will be in MK until lunchtime so the meal would be the last thing we do before leaving the park and hopping to AK to spend the evening. I have been to some of the choices before but not my husband or daughter. The following currently have lunch availibility. Which of the following would you pick for lunch and why?

1. Keep Tony's ressie.
2. Crystal Palace
3. Ale & Compass
4. Olivia's Cafe
5. Plaza Restaurant

Which place has the most items that will appeal to your pre-schooler? The foods that no matter what shape, size, color you can guarantee will be eaten. For my family, I would pick The Plaza. My kids would eat everything on the kids menu, they can choose a mickey sundae with their meal and DH loves monte cristos.

Why not wait and eat lunch in AK? You could always grab a snack in MK to tide you over. Pretty much anything you eat in AK is going to be better than what's at MK, and it would save you another stop. We love Skipper Canteen in MK but it's not a great choice for picky eaters.

For what it's worth, we love the Disneyland monte cristos and were very excited to try the one at the Plaza. We did not care for it at all - the most prominent flavor was grease, and both my son and I ended up getting sick after that meal. My son loved the ice cream there though!

That's disappointing. Thanks for the information.

I would either eat in MK or AK. I would not go out of my way for A&C or Olivia's. I would look at the MK menus and decide from there. IMHO, none of the TS in MK is very good. Alternatively, consider eating at Rainforest Cafe on your way into AK. The food isn't great, but it's on par with anything at MK and would fit the bill for a picky eater. If you really don't care about location, A&C has the best food of the restaurants on your list, IMHO.

We had the monte cristo last month at the Plaza Restaurant and had the same experience. Cold, greasy and gross. Sooooo disappointing. We thankfully didn't get sick afterwards though. I also vote for eating at AK.

Crystal Palace. It's back to being a buffet. We've always found the food to be pretty good and there'll be plenty for the picky eater as well as decent things for the adults.

Tony's has recently updated their menu, removing pizza and the traditional spaghetti and meatball options for kids (there is still a whole wheat spaghetti with turkey meatball). So, depending upon how picky the pre-schooler is, you may want to double-check the menu.

I've always felt that Tony's gets a bad reputation but has perfectly fine Italian food if that's what you're in the mood for.

We are eating dinner at Satuli Canteen in AK. We are already doing Y&Y on another AK day. We looked at Skipper's but it wouldn't work well for my daughter.

The Disneyland Monte Cristo is so good! If MK had a Bengal BBQ like DL, that would totally solve my lunch dilemma.

We stopped off at Olivia’s one time for lunch and felt it was worth it. It‘s an under 15 minute detour going from MK to AK. Of course we tried the Buttermilk Chicken. Very very yummy. A picky preschooler might even sneak a few bites, lol. There are other interesting choices on the menu like the Banana Bread Pudding Sundae :)

Just don't do Tony's! Another option is Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Good food with a view of the animals. It's then a quick hop over to Animal Kingdom.

Lunch on your way out of the MK? I would do Plaza or Tony's. Plaza is nice as you have a bit of a view of the castle, they have good kids' choices and decent sandwiches. And ice cream. Fabulous ice cream. I've also lunched at Tony's recently and despite some poor reviews, everyone in my large group liked it. Little kids got spaghetti, teens shared pizza and I had a good salad. Price point at both Plaza and Tony's is not bad. Crystal Palace is pretty expensive for a lunch, in my opinion.

I think this is an excellent suggestion, especially if you are already planning to drive. After lunch, you're 5 minutes from AK where you plan to spend the afternoon. You should take a look at the menu, however, to make sure the options are to your liking, of course!

We are already doing Sanaa on a different day. It is so yummy!

I have heard great things about Olivia's but have not been there myself. I would recommend Ale and Compass or crystal palace from that list.
