My family and I are going in May 2012 and looking at options for a special sit down dinner one evening. The problem is that there are so many choices, and we aren't sure where to dine.

During our stay we plan to visit CRT and Donalds Safari for our character interactions. We plan to do these for breakfast before park opening. We have discussed wanting to have a sit down dinner but want it to not include characters. As a whole, my family enjoys Italian food. My wife and daughter are very picky eaters too. Other than that we don't have any other ideas.

So wonderful diser's, can you help us out? :thumbsup2

If you like italian Mamma Melrose in DHS, Tony's in Magic Kingdom, or Tutto Italia in Epcot.

It is *not* Italian, but I would certainly recommend Ohana. The atmosphere is very "vacation-y". The food is good, with a nice variety, but you don't have to carry a tray. The apps and sides are served family-style to the table. There are 4 meat choices (steak, shrimp, pork, and chicken) that are seved from skewers by endlessly circulating wait staff. Apps and sides will be replenished throughout your meal; just ask. Thus if picky eater #1 likes nothing but the noodles and shrimp they can have all they want of both, while picky eater #2 can have endless bowls of salad and pieces of steak, and everybody else can sample everything that's served.

When you finally tell your waiter that you are stuffed to the gills can can not possibly eat any more, they bring the most wonderful dessert to the table - bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and warm banans foster sauce. It may sound plain jane but trust me it's wonderful. You will eat it no matter how full you are.

Early in the evening there is periodic entertainment for younger children (coconut races, limbo contests, etc). If you prefer a later dinner, check to see what time the fireworks at MK are that night. Make your ADR anything up to 1 - 1.5 hours before the fireworks. When you check in, be sure to ask for a table in the main room where you can see out the windows. You have a decent quarter-side view of the Castle and when Wishes starts Ohana dims the lights and pipes in the music. Magical!

For sit down for picky eaters I would recommend Teppan Edo. Because of the teppanyaki style service, the food is pretty basic ( but really tasty! )

Yes, it's like a Benihana you would see at home but we still love to do it when we are here and have never had a bad meal.

You'll get noodles ( which are a bit thicker than spaghetti, made with oil and tossed with onoins and zucchini - which are easiliy pushed aside if they aren't your thing ). Main dishes are a choice of steak, chicken, shrimp, swordfish or tofu. You'll also get either white or brown rice.

The show the chef puts on is fun too.

I would like to suggest Wolfgang Puck Cafe at DTD. They have a good selection of choices, inc. pasta and sushi, and everything we've had there has been very good.

I second Teppan Edo, very inviting and very tasty!
If you must have Italian Tutto Italia is delicious and Via Napoli is not bad but we prefer Tutto! :thumbsup2

Well I'm thinking we are narrowing it down to Tony's or Via Nappoli. My only concern is I'm not sure of park hours during our stay (since they haven't been released) and I dont want to get into wanting to book multiple ADR's We are very laid back and dont want to feel like we have to rush from one place to another just to eat.

Thats my main concern. I guess I could book our CRT and Tony's on the same day, but since we plan to go back to the resort daily during the afternoon for some rest a dinner at Via Nappoli isnt that big of a deal either. I'm such a noob. :rotfl:
