I camped at FW when I was a little girl with my late grandmother and cousins-other than the memories with them, I don't remember much of it. Last year we stayed at FW before in the cabins, for a last minute quickie trip-I confess we stayed there bc nothing else was available. WE FELL IN LOVE WITH FW!
So we are doing our first RV trip there. Found a nice looking RV rental through myrvhotel. Dealt with nice people there. We're staying a week. First time RVers, first time campers, everything.

We plan on only doing parks 2 days. We want lots of Fort downtime.
For our little group, keeping the little ones in mind, any suggestions you can give this first timer on what to bring?
Our RV has a washer and dryer which I am so happy about. The baby alone makes that worth it. What do you guys do about a clothesline?
From A-Z, what things can you suggest that we bring on our trip to have fun with, or help make it easier?
THANKS!

The beautiful thing about RVing is that you only need to bring what you would to a hotel. I'm assuming your rental will come stocked? So just bring the normal stuff - laundry detergent, clothes, wipes, diapers, waters, snacks, etc... We usually buy the foodstuffs once we get there - if you are flying and won't have a car you can even get food delivered to your site. We had planned on doing that when we went down but it's always fun to grocery shop in a new place so we all went. :)

You're going to absolutely LOVE it! We fell in love with FW too - isn't it an amazing place? Oh and for the clothesline we just use rope strung from 2 trees. You can also get a wooden laundry rack that folds if you are driving and have room, but honestly, a rope works just as well. :)

We rent from myrvhotel as well. You will not have to bring anything but clothes. They will have a ton of stuff for you and your family. Chairs, cooler, fishing poles, outdoor rug. Extra table. They are great and really easy to work with. Shoot last year they even stocked out cooler with water for us. We are renting from them in August (ambassador suit, I think that's the one you're renting too.) they will have tons of games and stuff for you an your kids. My family I like yours we also do a lot of FW downtime.

THANK YOU FOR THIS INFO!!! I have always wanted to stay at FW and didn't even know there was such an RV rental place. And I find it amazing that we don't even have to drive the thing, just fly in and get to the campground. Awesome post!

I have a suggestion that you maybe look into going into the parks spread across more days. Five years ago we camped at the fort my kids were 6, 3 and 1. We found that going to the park more days was helpful in that we could go early in the morning and come home for lunch and naps then spend the rest of the days around the fort. The one night we returned to see the parade at MK we saw many families with kids exhausted beyond belief for having spent the entire day in the park (not that this is what you are planning). We found ourselves and our kids more enjoyable and well rested by doing this each day. We got in park time and still were able to experience much of the Fort. We are headed back in 2 weeks and can't wait. We did spring for tickets for every day of our stay this time around and plan to employ similar tactics again. Hope you have a great time!

No problem. They also have a golf cart available which I think is $40 a night. Really easy exchange they just drop it off with the camper so there no hassle as far as them dropping off in the over flow lot. The cart has seat belts for young ones (and older folks if you spend some time at the tavern) turn signals, review mirror and neon lights underneath. Really great people.
