Newbie to Disney travel here...could someone help me understand BB offers? I keep reading the posts and I still don't think I get it. You call while staying at a Disney resort, that much I've got.

We are staying at the Poly at the end of August 2016...we plan to go back in August 2017 with DD and most likely won't be able to swing Poly again...are we able to choose a different resort for the BB? When you call, do you book it right then? Do they give a conf. # at that point?

As you can see, I am very confused and wasn't successful in finding a thread to explain exactly how the process works. Any help explaining this would be appreciated!

Yes, you call while there (ext 8844), book your next stay, pay the deposit and get a conf #.

The current offer will be free dining and you can already see what dates are available on the other thread, so it will help you plan. You can choose other resorts. I have never booked the free dining BB so I don't know what other requirements there may be (are tickets required?) so I'm sure someone else will chime in with more info.

Thanks! At least now I understand the process.

I believe that Park tickets (with either the Park Hopper or Water Park Feature added) are required.

you must purchase, at least, a 2 day park hopper ticket for each guest.

Are there usually bounceback offers for room only, so that annual passholders can use them?

Also, if you reserve a bounceback offer, but later find you need to cancel or reschedule, can you do that?

Typically, Disney offers the free dining bounceback for the following year from August - October. The rest of the year, they have been offering a % off room discount for specific dates. We expect
a room discount offer to come out in October for dates in 2017. If Disney follows the same pattern, that will be the offer until sometime next August. AP holders who book the free dining often apply the tickets to renewing their pass. Or you can save them for future use. Most people decide on the best deal based on how much they will save for each trip. Ex: I never book free dining because there are just 2 of us traveling & we stay at a deluxe resort. So the room discount is always a better deal, wether we have APs or not.

The cancellation policies are the same for bounceback reservations as they are for any reservation: 30 days for a package & 5 days for room only. You can change as long as the new dates are within the original offer dates & there is still availability. The regular CMs at CRO may not be able to make the change since bouncebacks are booked thru a special department. They may transfer you to guest services. Or you can call the phone number on the bounce back brochure. Disney has gotten more strict on dropping/ adding days the last year or so. You used to be able to book a longer stay & just drop a day or
2 & keep the reservation. But now it is concidered an actual reservation change & the new dates have to be available in order to make the change. You can also change resorts as long as there is availability.

Dial 8844 when you get there and you can get great information. It will be the first thing we do.
