Hi,
New visitor to this site and I'm glad I found it. Am doing the party this year and based on my sister's experience last year I am now confused about what's req'd for admission. Do I need to have a regular admission to MK and then buy the MNSSHP ticket as well? According to WDW, the party starts at 7pm when MK is closed, but my sister said that last year, event goers were able to get around 3:30? My sister swears that she just bought a party ticket and didn't have to use a whole day off her pass to get into the party. I spoke to an operator at WDW who says that's incorrect and no one going to the party gets in before 7pm? Do they really empty the park out and then re-admit?
Would appreciate anyone's valuable expertise on this.

You only need the MNSSHP ticket to get in to MK for the party. They normally let MNSSHP guests in early, about 4 PM, again with only the MNSSHP ticket, but that could change. As of last October, we got MNSSHP wristbands that allowed us on rides after 7 PM.

You only need the party ticket to get into the party, and even though the party officially starts at 7, you can get in at 4; they don't close the park and then reopen it. Unfortunately, phone CMs are not a good source of information about park operations; some of them aren't even in Florida.

In years past, and I would hope this remains the same, if you had a ticket for a special party that started at 7:00pm (Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, etc.) you could enter the park beginning at 4:00 pm. If you wanted to enter any time before that you would need a regular park ticket.

Disney never completely empties the park and then reopens it for the party.

Disney has CMs that begin handing out party wristbands beginning at 4pm. If you are previously in the park on a regular ticket you just go get a wrist band. If you are entering at 4 or after you are issued a wristband as you go through the gates/turnstiles or right after.

At about 6:45 the CMs start looking for wrist bands and start indicating to non-wristband wearing guests that it is time to head to the exit. At 7:00, no one without a wristband is allowed on any attraction and are gently, but firmly ushered out of the CS and gift shop areas.

Hope this helps!

Have a great trip :wizard:

Many Disney Blogs state you can get in as early as 4pm with just a MNSSHP ticket even though it doesn't start until 7pm.

The main reason for this is they do not want a huge crowd waiting to come in at 7pm.

You definitely do not need a regular ticket.

The consensus seems to be that my sister was right and "Elaine" at WDW was wrong. So, I only need to buy a MNSSHP ticket... which I will do soon as I understand they sell out early!

To be fair, the party doesn't start until 7:00pm. CM's may not be allowed to disclose that they accept early admittance starting at 4pm.

If you look around you can find where Disney has directly stated you can enter at 4pm.

I think the phone CM's are just not given that info.

I think you're right about phone CM's. It was a few years ago and at DLR not WDW, but I did find information put out by Disney that you could enter the park as early as 4pm on the party ticket alone.

My experience is that it's not advertised but the info is freely given if you ask someone in the know. Unfortunately, phone CM's are rarely "in the know".
