Help!! UG lists these days as a "9"

We are leaving in 4 days for our trip. I've always heard that there are light crowds Mardi Gras week, but now the whole time we're there it is listed as an "8" or "9". Say it isn't so!! I had to beg and plead my husband to leave for Mardi Gras (with the hope of doing this every year!!) If it is crowded, I know he will say NEVER AGAIN! Has anyone been there recently or this time of year in the past?

Tis not just Mardi Gras coming up. Many school districts have a mid-winter break during the week of President's Day (i.e., classes out for the whole week), so there will be oodles of families descending upon WDW. Our friends went last year during this time and really regretted it.

Your best bet is to follow the touring advice of TUG or TGM and decide which of the major attractions you want to see the most.

We used to go during President's week. Very, very crowded. The good part is that the parks are usually open late and many attractions that are sometimes closed seasonally are open that week.

Since President's Week is the week BEFORE Mardi Gras, I would think the busiest days for us would be Sat. and Sun. (Feb. 25 and 26).

That's what I'm hoping for anyway considering we'll be there for Mardi Gras week also.

Let's just keep our fingers crossed and hope for small crowds and awesome weather.

Next weekend is listed as 9, but after that 6-7 for the actual Mardi Gras week. That is a whole different story. I'm hoping it will be fine. I think it would be worth the peace of mind to sign up and use their touring plans. That's what we've done. If things improve, we won't need them, but I'd rather be safe. I also think sleeping-in next weekend would be a bad call. Get there early and get it done, then you can move on if you need to.
