It wont accept my current mobile number, and we haven't got any sim cards to use over there yet. Anyone know how to get round this?

Nevermind! It seems google was much more helpful than I first thought! For anyone else having problems, it has to be a 10 digit number, people are either making them up, or using their hotel number ;)

If I recall, you have to enter a number ver in the format XXX XXX XXXX, and the first number cannot be a 0. To get around it, I just entered my mobile number, transposing the 0 at the start to the end of the number. They'd never be able to reach me on the number, but with My Disney Experience and all the details they have on file with your reservation, I don't think it would ever be a problem. At least it allows you to make the all important ADR.

We tried just leaving the "0" off my number, but it still wasn't accepting it??

We were only doing reservations for Goofy's Kitchen at Disneyland, not the all important ADR's at WDW ;) I don't think my poor heart could managed all of that yet, it's stressful enough learning all there is to know about DL and DCA! :rotfl:

Not sure if you have managed it yet or not. Basically, you will need to 'make up a number' as it is not set up for international phones. The numbers over there are XXX XXX XXXX. You could try your hotel's number if you want.

Yes! We finally did manage it after a lot of googling, thanks :) We ended up using our hotel number, as we figured it's not completely lying, we will be staying there and "contactable" on that phone number ;)

You'd think they might make it a little easier on us foreign folks, surely they've realised by now that not all of their clientele live in the US ;)

I had trouble with this too. I've just added the 0 to the end of my number. I wasn't going to use my phone over there anyway so I don't think it will matter too much using a fake number.

I had the same problem but just used my mobile with 61 added in front. Got it to work eventually.

I don't know if you've already figured this out or not but I always use my mobile without the 0 and stick a 1 on the end - works well and even though it's not my actually number it doesn't matter as they have my email :)

Does anyone else find this annoying though? Every other web site in the world practically, copes with international visitors' phone numbers and international mobile phone numbers in the format required to actually ring the person if need be. I just find it exasperating that Disney can't manage this. Like everyone else we figured it out but have no idea now what dodgy number I put in - being consistent yes would have been more sensible and I think using the hotels number even more so though I seem to recall trying and the format of theirs didn't seem to be accepted either-I probably left one too many numbers in there like an area code I guess.

We don't take our phones O/S with us, so we just fill in the phone number section with the Hotel phone number. I mean they have our email, and 9/10 they don't need to contact you. We have only ever had a problem with 1 CM at Be Our Guest at Magic Kingdom, saying we couldn't dine there if we didn't have a current mobile phone number with us in case we left lost property there :confused3

Oh well we still dined there, after telling her a few times we were from overseas and didn't have a phone.

I do. I'm also is the camp of people who had to put an incorrect number until I rang one day and they were able to correct my number for me over the phone.
Disney is a multi- billion dollar company dealing with customers from every corner of the world. Silly problems like that should be ironed out almost immediately.

I think it may only be an issue if you're staying offsite. We had a reservation time changed on us last trip and they left a message on our room phone. I hadn't put that number in but they obviously knew where to find me.
