We just decided to surprise our daughter with a trip to LA/Disneyland for her 16th Birthday. We have been to Disney World several times and love it. How many days would you suggest for Disneyland and California Adventure? Also, where is a reasonably priced place to stay. Are any of the Disney properties right on the park property? What are some good restaurant recommendations on the Disneyland property?

Any other suggestions on what to see in LA that would be great for a 16 year old?

Thanks so much!

Thanks for the info. One thing I forgot to ask is if mid - end of August will be light attendance or high attendance. I think the kids are back to school there in California then, right?

4 days, if not 5. 4 is perfect for us but with our AP's we go a lot. :) with 5 you could really do everything and not feel like your missing out.

off site, the HoJo, BWPPI or Tropicana are my first choices, I'm excited though. We are staying at the CCI this weekend, I'll weigh on that property when we get back. On-site the BEST hands down is GCH, I haven't stayed at the DLH yet but PP is also nice. Read the posts above and you'll get some really good advice!

SoCal schools for the most part do not start until early September. Mid-August is still summer high season. Late August is transitioning but still fairly busy. Typically DLR starts reducing park hours around Aug 20.
