Help! Treehouse Villas or Old Key West?

I made reservations for OKW already but I'm debating changing it to the Treehouse Villas...has anyone stayed there who didn't have a car? was getting to the buses horrible? do they help with luggage when you check-in and check-out? what about the boat to DTD? is OKW less of a hassel?

The reason why we are considering changing is because we are going to be bar-b-qing a lot and thought it would be nice to have a one right outside our door, instead of having to lug things to one of the pool area's at OKW but we definitely are going to be using the pool a lot and heard the pool at the Treehouse Villas is small and not that good.

Any thoughts?

Yours may be a moot point; treehouse villas are pretty tough to get, aren't they?

We were going to try and get the Treehouse Villas for our Christmas family trip, but once we saw the decks at the THV, we stuck with our favourite OKW - we practically live on our OKW decks like an extra rec room, and it is accessible for any kind of weather - but at the THV there is no escape from the rain or the sun, no fan or light overhead, so we just stayed with OKW. I've also read that the square footage is much smaller and the storage space in the bedrooms is tight. And we love the pool at OKW, even the quiet pool at Turtle Pond road where we hope to stay. But those are just my opinions - it's your trip, so happy planning!
