Help timing my arrival

When I did WDW before, I stayed on property. This time I'll be driving from my hotel and parking. My google maps can tell me how long it will take me to get to HS, but once I enter the parking lot, how long does it typically take to find a spot and walk to the gate? I am not sure how much traffic there will be and how far it is from the lot.

At DHS you may be taking a tram from the parking lot to the gate. Give yourself 10-15 minutes. In the mornings you will be directed to a parking spot and we have not ever gotten one close to the entrance.

It depends. If you get there an hour before the park opens, it'll take maybe 15 minutes. If you get there after the park has been open for a couple of hours, plan on 45 minutes or so. Time of year factors in, too.

If you want to be there for rope drop, plan on arriving at the parking lot 1 hour before the park opens.
