I have ADR's at teppan edo and loved the old place, but I have heard some horror stories about the new version and am not sure if I should keep my ADR or go to Biergarten instead. Anyone been to Teppan Edo on the Dinning Plan? what do you think?

I can only suggest that you listen to last weeks DIS Unplugged podcast if you haven't already. 2nd review of the place, not good, but many folks seem to really like it.
I think it might depend if you regularly go to hibachi style or not, iow, what your expectations are?
good luck!

ps I switched our ADR to the other restaurant, Tokyo Dining, but now can't find anywhere what's included with the DDP!

That's what I am afraid of. I heard the DIS podcast last week and it put doubt into my mind. Thanks for the info.

we liked it same as always but we know going in that it's not the same as other Japanese restaurants that we go to. No fried rice - only steamed. No soup or salad unless you're on the deluxe dining plan then you get an appetizer - no sushi though.
You also get stir fried noodles mixed in with your veggies no bean sprouts.
They did add the "yummy" sauce though. (Which was a definate plus for me)
Our little one had the soybeans and then ordered the childs shrimp. We were glad we picked this because we did have Mama Melrose and thought we probably couldn't get in. We have yet to try Mama's but after reading others post hubby wanted to change. (I'm glad he did)

Steamed rice is a plus for us since we never get fried rice when we go to habachi's, we're on the DxDDP, bummer about the sushi but DFI doesn't like it anyway but I love it.

In 2006, we got the steak and scallops with the DP. I see that is no longer on the menu, but there is steak & shrimp. Is this allowed with the deluxe DP now?

We ate here in October, shortly after it reopened. As always, we loved it.
I think the decor is beautiful. Our chef was very entertaining and the food was delicious. We were on the 2007 DDP and the combination meals were included. Also, they did not exclude the sushi appetizers then either. I do not know for sure what is included/excluded on the 2008 DDP
We love it here, go every trip, and we have never been disappointed.
