HELP..T-shirts for our group of 10....

Help!
We are a family group of ten (we will have 4 boys on the trip under the age of 7 and 6 adults) that will be staying at the SOG this November 6-11. We would like to order/find t-shirts for our group that we can all wear one day. I found the "Grand Gatherings Merchandise Pre-Order" form but need a Grand Gathering ID # to order the shirts (so far everyone I called at Disney - 3 calls - had no idea what type of shirts I was talking about).

Well, I called SOG (had to leave a message) to start the process of setting up a "Gathering" ID number. I can't make any of the "Gathering" reservations or order the t-shirts until I get this ID #. Disney did confirm though that I can set up as a "Gathering" even though we are staying at the SOG.

OK, now that I vented I have some questions??
1. Has anyone made/purchased t-shirts for a group?? What did you order? Where did you order? Or, how did you make them?
2. Has anyone done a "Gathering" event? Is it worth it?

Thank you so much for the links. I checked both websites out and really love the shirts from the Disney Store. We can get t-shirts or sweatshirts (sounds good for November). I am still in the process of getting our "Gatherings" number from SOG and then I can see about getting the "Gatherings" t-shirt. Although, if I can save some money at the Disney Store, I'll prob. just do that.

I've been in Nov twice and Dec 3 times and have only need a sweatshirt on 2 of these 5 trips. I would get T's. It can be cool at night but your sure to have days when you can wear the T's. You've got to bring a sweatshirt just in case I go for T's for the group.

What are the Gatherings t-shirts. I have had a number for several months and no one mentioned that there are t-shirts. I was just at Disneyworld and I expressed my views about the fact that there is very little Magical Gathering merchandise. I even had several cm's ask me what is Magical Gatherings. Do you have a link that has a picture of the shirts?

For our last trip to DL, my mother bought matching Disney logo t-shirts in yellow and had a friend embroider our names on the front. These shirts go on sale quite frequently, so it's a more economical way to go, especially if you have a big group.

I have "made" shirts on numerous occasions for our trips or other vacations / events. I make my own design on the computer and then print it onto suitable transfer media. Personally I find the new dark-shirt transfers to be MUCH better than the white-shirt only versions that have been out a bit longer. The kids love these. A word to the wise however -- don't put kid's first names on shirts for 2 reasons -- 1, safety (so a stranger won't use their name to gain their trust) and 2, then the shirt can be handed down to a younger sibling! (My kids won't wear shirts with -- gasp -- their sibling's NAME on it! Ewww -yuckee!) I usually use a symbol to recognize each shirt -- something that is the person / child's favorite (like a character, or past-time/hobby, etc) That way the shirts are the same, yet personal.

Local shops can probably do a great job, too, though check to see what Disney material they have available for use -- it can be quite limited. I think the latest fad of tie-dyed shirts is quite cool (and would be so easy to spot in the park!) I am actually buying my shirts for our next trip from a local shop, then doing the design process myself. Similarly -- look for local ads with folks with new embroidery sewing machines! A woman at my workplace has a megabucks sewing machine that does all sorts of Disney embroidery. FANTASTIC looking stuff. Often folks who buy these will do work on the side to "pay" for their obsession!
