Help! Starting a pin collection

We are going in June 2007. Is pin trading still popular? Are there still a lot of cast members with lanyards? Do they still have the pin trading at the Contemporary and All Star resorts for children on certain nights? The last time we were there in June 2006 my 2 dds and I had a great time trading pins. Does anyone know if there are any plans to come out with another series of the cast lanyard pins?

OMG- pin trading is so addictive! My DD was 6 last trip and she loved it. I bought her a bag off of ebay to get started and she has a great lanyard full of really cute ones. Some she traded and some we bought. I too got a lanyard. I mostly bought mine though and mine mean something- like I have a pin from each of the parks. And it was my birthday when we were there so I have a birthday pin, etc.

Where can we find a pin bag? The lanyard last time got way to heavy.

And is there a website where I can track what pins we have?

There is a website, but I advise against the online pin trading unless you belong to a community that knows one another and leaves references that are fair and not, well, vindictive. Many of the folks that trade on the most popular sites tend to be a bit obsessive-compulsive and if you lose one in the mail you will be sentenced to an eternity of labor in the afterlife! I keep track of my pins in a word file, so that way if the databases online fail I will always have a backup. You can join the main site to keep track of your pins, but keep in mind that the information stored there is not private.

I've bought trader pins from two or three people on www.dizpins.com and they have been very nice pins. Most of them were $2.25 per pin, free shipping.

Any ideas where to get some good deals on pins IRL? I've done the Ebay thing, but shipping really adds up (have to add that it is really annoying to pay $2 or so per pin in shipping when a set of four that just arrived only had 52 cents postage on it. Sigh). Anyway, I'd love to hit a Disney Store but our local one shut down? Any other stores carry them?
