HELP! SSR vs. resale

I have finally convinced my hubby to join the family. Now I need to decide on a hope. SSR sounds appealing- Dec. use year with points this year but I don't have to pay until 5/04. The location is fine for us and a nice pool is a perk. BUT, we will probably only go to Disney every other year and go to HH (hopefully) for several short visits a year. Should I buy 150 points at SSR and get the incentives and extra years or look for a HH resale? Or a combination of the two? I am leaning toward the combo.
Also, is it difficult to get a 1 BR at HH in the summer at the 7 month window?

Yes it is dificult to get a 1BR at HH in the summer months. I would try to get a re-sale at HH first, if no luck after a while I would go with SSR as the second option.

If you only need 150 points and want HH in the summer consistently, I'd go there. If you need more points, consider an onsite optionlike SSR plus a HH resale. Do not buy DVC with the idea of long weekends at HH, you'd be much better off paying cash for this option.

My recollection of HH point charts is that they realy hit hard on Saturday nights (they have three point rates - Weekdays, Friday and Saturday). Some of the premiums for Saturday night just over Friday night can be an additional 50%. Not to discourage short HH trips but I suspect that it is quite popular on weekends, Hence the premium to stay then.
