HELP!!!!! Snowed in

Even though many of you are buried, so are we, I must say that I love the snow!! At least right now. We just found out that we have another snow day on Wed. Surprise days off like this help to make it to June for our cruise. I did take some advice, got myself a pina colada and dreamed about CC. I didn't get to try the konk kooler last time, so I'm looking forward to it! Right now, I'll just have to dream.

I am so sorry - not knowing ANYTHING about snow - didn't stop to think that it does have to melt and where does that water go DUH - please excuse the dumb statements. Still hope you get warmed up soon the safe way that is.

No school today for DS . We only have 2 snow days left and then he starts to lose his spring break. I hope this is the end of the snow for the season. We usually get around 29" a year and we've gotten about 45!

where does the snow go?

In areas that have natural covering- non ashphalt- it seeps into the ground to rejoin the water table or drains off into rivers, streams or retaining ponds. On ashphalt and other covered areas in the best case scenario it goes into the storm drains. However, if the ground is too wet ( or the snow melts too quickly)or the storm drains are covered or full, it goes into basements, garages or any path of least resistance.

The bright side to the snow this year- it looks as though the will be able to lift water bans.
