:faint: I just don't know which system to begin with

Can any one out there advise me?

Why do you prefer one or the other?

 thanks!

Unless you are addicted to the quikkutz fonts.

It is way less expensive, and easier to find.

Also...you can (supposedly) use the quikkutz dies with the sizzix and three of the white pads. I have to pick up the quikkutz letters I ordered and try.

The sizzix is alot easier to use. It takes alot of hand power to move the quikkutz, and it doesn't always cut clear through...at least for me.

With the addition of the little sizzlets, I definitely give sizzix the edge. Hopefully...they will come out with more and more fonts!

This is the hot question around here! I went through the same thing about 3 months ago and decided on the quickutz.
You need to think about your style, space and how you will use it. At least that is what I did.
I don't use a lot of die cuts. I always load up on dies when I go to a crop that had a sizzix. I have yet to use them! LOL!
I also know with my personality if I had the sizzix I would be buying dies just because! (the coupon thing....good deal can'tresisit) I love the fonts the quickutz offers. I use it all the time for that.
I also am a mobil scrapper I don't have a space at home. So I needed something that would fit nicely in a bag and travel well!
The only draw backs I see so far:
1. Limited to the size of you die cuts
2. little tough on the hands I think it would get tiring if I had to cut a lot of one thing out.
3. Expensive the chain stores don't carry it right now so now 40% coupons.
4. If you have kids, the sizzix would be easier for them to use.

I do think as time goes on many of the stores will start to carry quickutz. Just don't know when. Another thing to think about with the sizzix if you have the room for it they now have something coming out called sizzlets or something like that. Same style font die as quickutz but can be used in the sizzix (hense you will be able to use quickutz with sizzix by adding a block.) Also I have heard you can put the brass embossing stuff through the sizzix. Never tried it but heard it you can.

Hope that helps. I am very pleased with my quickutz.

I love my sizzix. And the different shapes available( along with the letters and new products soon to come out ) are addicting.
Pattievers - please let us know how the 3 pads work.

I say SIZZIX

I like the fonts, shapes and different di-cuts available -
and you can get them for 40-50% off at Mikes and AC Moore's when you have coupons!

You can use LARGER cie-cuts too -

and when I used Quikutz at a crop - even with the cradle it really bothered my hand after a while - and I am an agile 31 year old with no probs regarding that normally!

The only tough thing is if you travel to crop the dies take up a lot of space -
but they do have the new slim ones coming out in Novemberish!

Just my 2 cents
good luck -
I am sure you will be very happy with whatever you decide!

Sizzix. I love the variety of dies available and the sizes available. My nieces love to use it when they come to town - last time we worked on mirror frames out of fun foam for their school lockers.

Right after my last post.

There are two more sizzles fonts being announced...they are coming out in November...so that will make FOUR!

Watch out LSS!

The other thing I was thinking is that I read on 2Peas that if you buy 3 of the plastic "pads" for the Sizzix and stack them, you can supposedly use the Quickutz dies with the Sizzix.

I don't know if this is true, but there were several people who'd said they'd done it.

I recently ordered a Quickutz tool and a couple of dies from someone who was selling them at 40% off (that was her regular price). I thought that I'd be able to add to my collection over time if they were always 40% off. However, she just sent out an email saying that Quickutz is instituting a "fair trade policy" that won't allow their retailers to sell for anything more than 20% off.

That's too expensive for my budget, so I expect I'll be selling my hand tool as soon as it arrives. :( I am hoping I can use the dies with my Sizzix, though, since I've already paid for them. :)

I love my new Sizzix, but I have never seen or used the other, so I can't compare. I bought the lollipop letters and I think they look great! I have to get some coupons so I can buy the numbers and punctuation next. I like the shapes too, but I only buy them on sale or with a coupon. It is expensive enough that way!

My sister just started a Daisy girl scout troop, so I am pretty sure she will be using it more than me!

Good luck with your decision.

thank you thank you thank you to all that replied!
I am going to start with the sizzix - & then later on, also try the quickutz. I too read abt being able to use them in the sizzix
machine thingy. The quickutz dies are so adorable.... Have anyone of you tried them out with the extra plates in the sizzix machine?

thanks to all of you for your help, I appreciate all the responses!!
