We had to choose holidays at work for next year and I chose the week of the 7th of April, so told my sis and we want to go to WDW but now I am worried about American Spring Break..I asked and was told that it varies from State to State and even city to city...this worries me, I LOVE to go when rides are a walk on. We were in WDW last Dec and it was CRAZY with all thos cheerleaders. Has anyone been during the Spring Break in the US,and am I being paranoid for nothing, or should I see if I can change my holidays to another week...earlier or later?

With realistic expectations and good planning one can go any time really. We happen to be going down on April 8th. A good majority of schools in the US plan their spring break around Easter. Since Easter is on March 23 next year it might not be quite as bad as you think but not walk on either.:goodvibes

Hi there.
I was worried about that also as we are going March 4-15th but it seems as though most of the U.S has spring break around Easter this coming year.
I posted on the the resort board I think a poll asking about spring breaks.
Post a poll on one of the boards...maybe even the first board and ask people when their spring break is.....You will get tons of responses.

Most university/college spring breaks are during March; typically beginning the second week of March. Locally the University of Central Florida (6th largest university in the country in terms of enrollment) has their break during the week of March 10th.

Public schools (elementary, middle and high schools) typically have theirs on either side of Easter. In 2008 Easter is also in March. Thus, April will probably be a good time to come with fewer spring breakers than normal. (Valencia Community College does have a late spring break...week of March 31st.)

Here in New Jersey, my kids (1st and 3rd graders) get TWO full weeks off...President's Week (week of 2/18) and Easter Week (late April)....oh, to be young again!

Been there, done that! :lmao:

It's definitely do-able. We were part of a grand gathering last year and it was easy-peasy. Unless you do EMH though, there won't be much walk on. Grab an Unofficial Guide, and make use of the touring plans, and you're set!
