Help Save Toontown at Walt Disney World!

Things I will miss about Toontown:

Cornelius Coot statue. If the imagineers save only one thing from the entire place, please let it be this. It's a tribute to Carl Barks, in my opinion and one of the very few tributes. I can't see where it would fit now though.

Pete's Garage. Only because my name is Pete. Also there's not a lot of love for Pete in WDW. I know he's kindof a villain but other villains walk around. I've never seen Pete walking around in Disney. Hm. Never even thought about that before this post.

I like Mickey and Minnie's houses but I won't be too upset about losing them. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale can be found just about anywhere so I'm not worried about not being able to meet them anymore.

Things I don't like:

Fairies If they theme this right, it could be cool. Now I haven't watched any of the fairies movies, because I thought of them in a similar vein to Bambi 2, etc. Crappy sequels churned out for $$$. It amazes me that things like this get respect but things like Ducktales and Darkwing Duck hardly get respect. I digress. Maybe, I'm completely wrong and Fairies is the best thing to happen to Disney since Snow White. I guess the only way to find out is to wait and see.

Other than the overkill of interactive princess activities, and previously mentioned grievances, I fully support all new expansions. Change is usually good or at the very least acceptable.

When I die, I hope that last sentence is the famous quote I'm remembered for.

Eh, even when I was a kid the place bored me. I went through each of the houses once and I was done. I think the whole Pixie Hollow thing is stupid, but I won't miss Toontown.

I was THRILLED when that left.

Now Spaceship Earth is almost... majestic and not a victim of tacky design.

Also... I don't see what our age has to do with this. Do we not care about the parks as much as people who are older than ToonTown? Do we not recognize poorly executed design? You'd be surprised at how much many of us care and want to see the parks at their best. Toontown is not their best.

I'm sure it was... fun, when it was Mickey's Birthdayland, but it was only meant to be temporary. Full effort and care were not put into the land.

Toontown is mainly for the younger kids, so it makes more sense for us to grow out of visiting the land. I sure wasn't too impressed when we went last. All we did there was go on the Barnstormer, and check out Donald's Boat. In fact, if it weren't for me wanting to see Donald's Boat (first time i've been where the water's been working) we wouldn't of stayed at all, and would have headed straight to Tomorrowland.

For me, I was sad to see the wand go because of nostalgic reasons. The wand was up on my first visit to WDW, so i've always loved the wand. Sure SE looks good without the wand, but i'll still always love it with the wand. Now the Hat is a different problem. It seems out of place, it destroys the view of the Great Movie Ride, and it covers up the biggest Hidden Mickey in the world...

I WILL miss Donald's Boat because that is my earliest memory. Playing in there when I was about 3 years old. But it's time for a change. It was BUILT to be temporary. It's bye-bye time.

I miss the wand a little, because it was on SE during my very first trip to EPCOT when I was 4 years old. I have a picture of it so I can remember it. I also have a picture of ToonTown. Besides, there is a REAL and PERMANENT TT in Disneyland.

I like the Hat. But I don't mind if it's moved. I just want it to stay.

I also heard that the Hat was placed there because of an issue with the rights to show the Chinese Theater on postcards and such.

I was happy to see the Epcot on SE because it was out of place and looked stupid. Is there a sign that says "Magic Kingdom" on the castle?

Toontown served its purpose, time to move to the next thing, which looks amazing.

Toontown was okay... but it WAS NOT the most magical part of WDW or MK or whatever. It was getting old and was meant to be temporary. Just because Mickey and Minnie's house's will be gone doesn't mean the ACTUAL Mickey and Minnie will be gone. I think that's more important. It's called PROGRESS, and I totally agree with Megan on this. I'm glad Tink's moving in and Dumbo's getting a bigger home. Things change, and this is change for the better.

I don't really like going to ToonTown. Not only is it outdated, but it's also on kind of a hill and I'm too lazy to walk up it. Lol. The only reason we went there this trip is because my baby cousin wanted to see Cinderella and ride Barnstormer. And I'm sorry to say, but Mickey and Minnie's houses are not taken care of. The paint is peeling and they look kind of sad now.

I'm really excited about the new Fantasyland, and won't miss ToonTown a bit!

I am THRILLED about the expansion. As far as Toontown is concerned, good riddance. If it were Disneyland's Toontown, I'd be singing a whole different tune here. The ToonTown at WDW is very poorly planned, constructed, and just plain awful, IMHO. I loathe ToonTown. They're keeping the Barnstormer ride, and moving Minnie and Mickey's houses, so I see no loss here. I'm really excited for the expansion, because it's a great move on Disney's part, in my opinion.

I'm sorry, but I've been to Toontown in Disneyland, CA, and in Tokyo Disneyland, it ****ing blows WDW's toontown out of the water. WDW's toontown sucks, and I am happy it is being replaced.
