As many of us know, the development in Florida in booming. With the cusp of the Baby Boomers coming into retirement age, it only seems as though development in Florida will continue to grow exponentially. But, as we build our dream homes and assimilate into the gentler lifestyle of the southeast, we are encroaching on the needed habitats of our wildlife.
The growth and development in Florida is jeopardizing the survival of the Florida Panther. Just about 100 survive in the wild and 5 have already been killed this year. I need not tell you how imperative it is that we make the necessary changes to prevent this cat's extinction.
Please use this link to inform your officials and representatives that you support their decisions that help prevent extinction and promote the recovery of the Florida Panther. All public comments are due by Monday, April 3, 2006. Please take the time now to support this cause. Last time I checked, Defenders of Wildlife had only half the letters and petitions needed.
Thank you for your time, energy, and attention!
