Thanks to the military we JUST found out that we will indeed be able to take a summer vacation to Disney as planned (thank goodness we didn't say anything to the kids) after being on the hook for the last two months of "will they, won't they" regarding schools and a last minute change in drill dates that will not allow us to use our timeshare as planned in Aug. We have an Orlando timeshare and have deposited it with Interval International but there's NOTHING available to trade into for the dates we need.

We can check in only from July 16-30 and want to stay 6-7 nights. We are also on a very tight budget (I was planning only on the $139 exchange fee for accomodations) and need a 2 bedroom with a full kitchen. I would take a large one bedoom if the baby doesn't count since he's not even in a crib (he sleeps with us) but most one bedrooms list 4 as the occupancy limit. I guess we could smuggle him in, he's small. :rotfl: Our 10 year old and 3 year old can share a bed if necessary. Total, we are 2 adults and 3 kids, ages 10, 3 and 3 months.

I have checked Armed Forces Vacation Club and there was a 2 bedroom on there for our dates a couple of nights ago but we couldn't book then in case this school was not canceled. I also checked the VRBO.com and am finding it very hard to navigate. I want to search for 2 bedrooms in Orlando/Kissimmee by price (cheapest first) but can't seem to do that. Anything I am doing wrong?

Basically, I am willing to go up to $350 for the week for a 2 bedroom with kitchen, which is what it would have cost us for a week with the Armed Forces Vacation Club. Condo, timeshare, private home, etc. I don't care as long as it's clean, safe and has a kitchen we can use to cook in.

Any ideas, websites I've missed, other places to consider? Thanks so much in advance. DH is deploying soon and we want to take one last Disney trip before he leaves for a year, but I seem to keep hitting brick walls.

You could try sending an inquiry at windsorhillsrent.com

Dave Robinson at vacationcentralflorida.com will sometimes post last minute deals for a week for $299 for a condo in Windsor Hills.

I tried a quick search for a week starting 7/16 but only saw something which worked out to about $650 for the week...which is still a good price for a 2 bedroom during peak season, IMO.

You might be able to find something for $350 for the week, but it is definitely going to take some searching. We got the Quality Suites Lake Buena Vista for $54 a night, which isn't too much out of your budget....but we booked months ago. You might be able to call and see about a military rate though. We booked a 1 bedroom suite - 2 queens in the bedroom plus a pull out sofa bed (sleeps 6) with kitchenette, which should fit your family, but isn't the 2 bedrooms you wanted.

Best of luck to you! I hope you are able to find something to make it work!

It's a little farther out but did you try Davenport? We stayed in an exchange through II a few weeks ago & did not have much choice due to our Wed. check in. We are commando park people and did not come & go from the place. If you want to take breaks, it's probably farther than you want to go. In early June, we did not have any issues w/traffic getting to & from the parks but it was about a 20 min drive door to door.

Can't help with where to look, but most places should let the 3mo in without an issue. The baby should not count towards the room count;)

Good luck. I feel your pain. I am in the same boat.

I love the Florida Quality suites at 8200 palm parkway...it is choice hotel......
Its a great deal for my family of 6...usually about $80 a night, great breakfast free, kitchen, more than enough space for us...
i think if you look under choicehotels.com it will get you there...

You may want to call up if their room limit is 4, when our kids were that little they never counted towards the room limit which would mean you could do those rooms.

Have you checked out Shades of Green or WDW Resort Overflow with the military discount?

Thank you to everyone for your help. I was able to finally snag a timeshare exchange within our dates. It's not exactly what I wanted but it meets the major requirements and the reviews are good.

Thanks again!
